Salvation Army chapters across the country are reporting massive shortages in volunteer hours and toy donations just weeks after the charity distributed (and then pulled) a controversial guide calling on white people to confront their "racist attitudes."
Some 20,000 volunteer hours have gone unfilled for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign this year, which historically represents about 33% of the charity's total yearly donations. The charity has also reported substantial shortages of toy and gift donations in some parts of the country, such as New Jersey, where donations are down 30% across the state.

Sadly, too many mainstream churches and religion based organizations have become “woke” - even promoting it!
Tip - Stay Out of Politics!
The top leadership of the Salvation Army should resign because of their incompetence.
Leadership out of touch with the impact of their policies are destructive to the mission of the organization.
Maybe they thought that what they were doing was somehow a good idea. But anyone with common sense could see the folly of insulting their base contributors by wrongly implying that they are racist.
Apparently the leaders are foolish and ungodly.
I really feel sorry for all of the recipients of aid who will now get nothing.
I was coming out of the grocery and was approached by a “Bell Ringer” asking for a donation. I looked at her and said, “Y’all went woke, now you can go broke.” She asked “What?” I further explained my stance. She said she hadn’t heard about it. I said, “Ask your boss about it,” and walked away.
IMHO, the SA screwed up BIG TIME when they bought in to this woke bullshit.
Agreed. This is a self imposed disaster for the Salvation Army.
I saw a few SA guys near the Christmas tree at Rock Center, but one was sitting on the curb and the other two were just standing around looking sad. Far from the usual music and even a little dancing of earlier years.
The tree is beautiful this year, though. People seem more in the Christmas spirit than ever. Resilient! They're not going to let any old stupid virus ruin Christmas. The trees being sold on the sidewalks seem to be fuller and more gorgeous than ever too.
So they called probably 90% of their supporters racist????…good move sa….
They don’t want my white money.
Here’s where you can send your donations instead of to those racist morons: https://freerepublic.com/donate/
Dead to me years ago. Remember a few years ago when the woke cretins heading the Army pulled the fund raiser from Trump properties to appease their overlords at the DNC. They haven’t seen my money since .... I’m sure their betters will chip in to make up the difference.
I was not aware that the Salvation Army was a black organization.
I will develop an annual letter to warn people never to donate to SA again.
I also have a letter I will send to the national headquarters annually.
These people should never be allowed to walk away from that decision.
There's one at the local supermarket in my town. Sitting in my car for about an hour waiting for a friend to shop, I saw exactly five people make a donation.
I don't know what it would have been like a few years ago.
I agree. The annually hours for a full-time employee is 2,080, so how would you even be able to measure such a small difference?
When a charity goes national, it goes political as well. On Christmas Day here, a young girl is putting on a Christmas Dinner for anyone who is alone or just needs dinner on Christmas Day. It’s her fourth year of doing it
That’s how you do it.
Dead to me.
Sadly, same. They have killed a bit of Christmas.
Shifting of the chairs….
Because there is a huge difference and excuse between just saying “oops, sorry, my bad, caught me”, and putting the chairs out in a public bonfire.
I don’t think that SA recovers from this. Mark on Permanent Record.
Yep. And I would go out of my way to make sure I made a donation every time
I even sent money after those bigots at target kicked them off the premises and that was the end of my target shopping well before the idiotic bathroom issue
