Florida may extend its alligator hunt.
Hunting seasons across the country are regularly scheduled, with some lasting for only brief windows of time. In Florida, the alligator hunting season only allows the animals to be harvested at night. That may change, however.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife has proposed adding additional daytime hours to the hunt, the Tampa Bay Times reports If this change were to be implemented, it would open the hunting time frame to 24-hours a day.
Alligators are typically more active at night, which makes it a prime time to hunt them.
The proposal was met with both favorable and negative reactions.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, some hunting guides were in favor of the additional hours. They argued that many of their clients say that it’s difficult to find time in their schedules for night hunts. Opening the hunt to daytime hours would allow more people to participate.

It wasn't already? You learn something new every day...
I wonder if the Alligator know this?.................
Don’t know, but gators work around the clock, so...
Going home from work one day a gator about 4 feet long was blocking the road sunning himself. Had to wait for it to get up and move before we could get by.....................
Yep one of my favorites.
In the fwiw department, when you are in the Everglades @ 2300 hrs, especially during mating season, YOU may become the prey.
This has been a PSA.

Yep, it’s not man-made, there is no human agency that can stop it, it comes at you fast, and it is a heck of a lot worse than what the prognosticators call for.
The final 5 months, you won’t even be able to kill yourself to make it stop.
Make it 23 1/2 hours and that will be good.
It hasn’t been that long since the bunny-huggers had a national moratorium passed on gator hunting because so many of them had been killed that they were considered “threatened.”
But gators reproduce very slowly and there’s no way they could have the numbers they do now starting with the numbers the pearl-clutchers claimed they were reduced to then. So apparently they were never truly “threatened,” they just learned to hide better.
It is only fair — after all, alligators are willing to snap at pets and people on a 24/7 basis.
Not man made BUT man caused. Sin. The first Climate Change was Noahs Flood. Liberals couldn't stop that one and they can't do a thing about what's coming down the pike.
Yes, I could use an alligator purse! Would make my day!
(I’m heartless for a few things. Live gators are in my way.)
