(CNN) Nurse Katie Sefton never thought Covid-19 could get this bad -- and certainly not this late in the pandemic. "I was really hoping that we'd (all) get vaccinated and things would be back to normal," said Sefton, an assistant manager at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. But this week Michigan had more patients hospitalized for Covid-19 than ever before. Covid-19 hospitalizations jumped 88% in the past month, according to the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.

I just checked. The US is up to 60.4% fully vaccinated. So if 75% of the patients are fully vaccinated that means they are getting seriously ill at a rate higher than the un-vaccinated. In fact if you do the math, the vaxxed population at 60.4%, the unvaxxed then at 39.6%...In order for the vaxxed to make up 75% of the cases they must be getting seriously ill at a rate just shy of twice that of the unvaxxed. Apparently the vaxxed are not less likely to end up hospitalized - they are twice as likely.

That was since last January, but no information at all in context with the recent 88% increase in hospitalizations in the past month. Smells fishy to me.

My mother in law, in her 70’s, got the vaccine about as soon as she was able, and that was in mid April, I believe. So for the very first part of the year of course virtually every one who died from covid was not vaccinated. Throws the stats way off. A more helpful piece of information would be recent stats, too bad that wasn't shared.

No mention of how many hospital patients are dying on respirators. I would like to see the percentage of hospital Covid deaths for people on respirators vs not. I starting to believe it is the use (misuse) of respirators that are killing most hospitalized Covid patients. They throw you on respirators too early and too often, even when people are not having severe difficulty breathing.

Article didn’t say how big was the hospital or if they received referrals from other smaller hospitals that might not been able to keep an infectious patient in their ICU.

Nor is there information on the patients other illnesses...like did they have terminal cancer like General Powell.

Except that now more younger peolpe are dying when before they were not. This happened only since the vaccine roll outs. The vaccines are causing more deaths of younger people. Pre-vaccine, if you were under 40 you had a nearly zero chance of dying from Covid 19.
