Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene today released “Unusually Cruel- An Eyewitness Report From Inside The DC Jail,” her report about what she saw when she was finally allowed to meet the January 6 political prisoners.
Reps. Greene, Gohmert, Gaetz, and Gosar tried, unsuccessfully, to visit the January 6 political prisoners twice earlier this year. They were turned back for no stated reasons. They sent a congressional letter and forced a confrontation with the D.C. mayor’s office and the Washington D.C. Department of Corrections (DOC) staff just so they could inspect a jail that “they have the right, prerogative, and duty as of Members of Congress to inquire and inspect.”
Greene and Gohmert (and their respective staffs) finally got to tour the D.C. jail where the J6 inmates are held, though the jail staff DID try to end the tour of the jail before the reps got to meet the political prisoners.
“What is there to hide?” Gohmert pressed. “The complaint has been that they’ve been treated differently than the other detainees. I thought tonight we were going to find out.”
At that point, the tour had already lasted two hours and Greene and Gohmert hadn’t yet met a single J6 inmate. After an 11-minute discussion, the tour went forward.
Greene and Gohmert met with roughly 40 J6 inmates, in what Greene described as a noticeably older part of the prison, which appeared to have not been updated recently, unlike the rest of the prison.

Where the hel is the rest of the GOP? Human rights organizations? Pro bono law efforts?! This is outrageous!
I expect CNN will report on this, non stop for 24 hours and bring their ratings back up.
Yes it will get more coverage than Abu Ghraib did. /sarcasm....
Don’t worry. Amnesty International will be on the case any day now.

The first major event in the culture war, and it took a year for Republicans to visit the prisoners. It seems to me the left is intent on getting it on. We just don’t realize it yet.
These are dungeon conditions that the bill of rights forbids.
To allow this to happen is empowering to the Marxists.
Is there a big push every week by the Congress to put an end to organized riots and shoplifting and looting in cities? That is a TRUE danger to the Republic and the stability of our country.
Rioters nearly always were mentioned in followup stories with “no arrests” or “As of now, no one will face prison time for the incidents.”
I assume they went home to listen to rap music, smoke dope and get drunk. Giggling to friends as they point to themselves on TV news show videos with burning buildings as a backdrop.
What do we do about this? Call Congress? Fat lot of good that will do.
After processing some of the horrors the prisoners are facing I started remembering stories of the American Vietnam prisoners. And the Hanoi Jane Fonda and SDS and other antiwar groups saying the prisoners are being treated well.
We need an act of Congress to have them released on Bail? When thousands of real bad thugs gave been released on No Bail Laws
in New York State to become repeat offenders over and over?
Come ON!
The US DOJ is now a Commie organization, The FBI not much better.
This two-tiered system is not based on race, violence, or conviction of crime, but politics.
Two members of congress pushed for this.
Two.
This is totally unacceptable, and needs to be repeated !
they’re not even senators ...
Well that is not the truth. I have watched what was done at the 2 previous attempts for Congressmen to be able to meet with them. No, they were not allowed access. Finally a Federal Judge declared the DC Jailers in contempt of a Federal Court and directed this issue to the AG himself. With no known response.
This is so sad.
Thanks for posting this!
Is there s squad of marines or Navy seals who have the guts to break into this facility and free these suffering POLITICAL prisoners?
This is Pelosi’s Inquisition. May she burn in hell for eternity.
