Migrants seeking to enter the United States will again have to stay in Mexico as they await immigration hearings, as the Biden administration reluctantly announced plans Thursday to comply with a court order and accept conditions set out by Mexico for resuming the Trump-era policy.
Mexico’s foreign relations secretary said Mexico will allow returns, beginning next week, in light of U.S. concessions “for humanitarian reasons and for temporary stays.”
Revival of the “Remain in Mexico” policy comes under a court order even as the Biden administration maneuvers to end it in a way that survives legal scrutiny. President Joe Biden scrapped the policy, but a lawsuit by Texas and Missouri has forced him to put it back into effect, subject to Mexico’s acceptance.
About 70,000 asylum-seekers have been subject to the policy, which President Donald Trump introduced in January 2019 and which Biden suspended on his first day in office...
Migrants are expected to be returned starting Monday at one border city and soon after in three others, U.S. officials said. They are San Diego and Texas crossings in El Paso, Laredo and Brownsville...

Hopefully, it is another sign of the political momentum shifting against the radical policy surge that the current Administration attempted.
Let's Go Brandon!
Can we resume the policy of building the wall?
Anybody want to buy a bridge?
“They added lots of little exemptions to the implementation policy (e.g. “fear”)…”
I fear for my safety unless the Biden administration gives me $500,000 tax free.
‘Trump Era.’ LOL! Four GLORIOUS years. MAGA!
Let’s Go, Brandon!
Man, if anyone can find a way to screw things up, it’s Brandon & his handlers.
Talk about back-pedaling! What a bunch of maroons! If *I* were elected President after someone had things ticking along like a fine Swiss Watch, I’d leave things ALONE and take the CREDIT for it, later.
Ain’t Rocket Science, and sure would give ‘We The People’ a much needed break from having Socialism crammed down our throats 24/7!
Yeah, I know. Socialists don’t think like you and me...
Too little, too late.
Who picks those judges? Will they turn out to be the ones who majored in some kind of "ethnic studies?"
There was word of Texas building some sections of wall.. But I have heard nothing of it lately. Any news?
“Who picks those judges?”
They are Administrative Law Judges, so they are managed by the Department or Agency they belong to (somewhere within the Department of Homeland Security, maybe ICE), like civil servants (not the Department of Justice or Judicial Branch).
They are doing this so they can blame Trump for why there is no financial reparations to people Obama put in cages.
1.4 million loose illegals later.
I bet they won’t be tested for COVID or VACCINATED while they wait in their cages in Mexico.
The agreement with Mexico requires that everyone we send to wait there, must be vaccinated..
So at least those will be vaccinated, when the Brandon Administration gets the paperwork sorted, to let them in for good.
There's another issue. They don't plan on getting this fully
addressed for six months.
They may be able to process all of those people and bus them
to our interior by then. Newcomers may have to go back. Not
taking bets on that.
Then there's that sappy question. Do you fear going back into
Mexico? Let me guess which answer covers the opinion of 99%
of their respondents. Then they stay and are stuck in the system
The media plays this off as the pPOTUS losing on this one.
I don't share that view fully. We'll see. Well,...
in truth, WE probably won't.
I heard this on a radio news report yesterday.
Trump’s good and rational and beneficial policy.
i’ll believe it when i start hearing them b!tching at the boarder and the press doing stories, not till then
Thoughtful post. We can hope that the Biden gang will heed the bad polls they are getting on immigration, but they are capable of outrageous sins without any hint if conscience.
