Joe Scarborough likes to tout himself as a conservative. But on today's Morning Joe, Scarborough actually made the case against overturning Roe v. Wade in the Mississippi case now before the Supreme Court.
Scarborough repeatedly cited opinion polls showing most Americans oppose overturning Roe, as if that is supposed to guide the Court.
He also said that the Court should bear in mind that we are a "constitutional republic." Right! And the Constitution has carefully delineated the separation of powers in a way designed to protect the Court from the passions of the day!

Phony ‘Conservative’ Scarborough Makes Case AGAINST Overturning Roe
Interestingly, Elise Jordan, one of those “MSNBC Republicans” who always criticizes Republicans, said some things that makes you suspect she’s actually pro-life. She’s from Mississippi and said that she’s not “confident” that the lawyers defending the state’s law restricting abortion are strong enough to win and overturn Roe v. Wade.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
“Joe Scarborough likes to tout himself as a conservative.”
Not in the last 20 years.
Scarborough is fudging the numbers. Actual polls taken by honest pollsters tell a totally different story. And look who he has backing up his side. Al Sharpton is a mental giant and
noy representative of a balanced debate. You know he has padded his arguments.
The unintended consequences of overturning Roe would be a disaster for the country. Democrats would gain one party rule in so many states it would make our heads spin. Trump had a big tent philosophy, which seems to be lost on some people.
But as Scarborough and many others have pointed out, the Supreme Court almost never rules against popular public opinion.
The Russian bitch has his balls in a lockbox.
When did he start claiming to be a conservative again?
He really isn’t one, but still regularly calls himself a conservative.
Conservative!?
PHONY is all you need to describe this half-wit.
Throw those babies in the fire, ‘eh!?
Good strategy. NOT.
Joe, is that you?
Roe v Wade is based on a libertarian (not Conservative) reading of the Constitution and 10th Amendment, which holds that rights not explicitly given to the government are retained by the States and the People. SCOTUS found that US citizens have a fundamental right to privacy (and by extension, a whole lot of other things). The State of Texas was adjudged to have violated Roe’s fundamental right to privacy in her doctor-patient relationship by banning the medical procedure of abortion.
Rather than overturning Roe v Wade, how about applying the decision to ObamaCare, vaccination and mask mandates, refusing to allow dying people to try Ivermectin or other meds, etc. Amend the Constitution to ban abortion if that is what the People want, but destroying the Constitution’s basis for placing citizens over government is not a good way to proceed.
If Roe’s overturned all that happens is abortion becomes a State issue and a legislative problem.
People act like ending Roe ends abortion - it doesn’t. It would say ‘it’s up to each state’...
Before the Roe decision abortion was legal in New York - and one or two other states.
Does Jo(k)e still pretend to be a conservative? I thought he gave that up for Mika’s charms long ago.
“but still regularly calls himself a conservative.”
How does a democrat Cuomo supporter classify as conservative?
