Police in Germany say a World War II bomb has exploded at a construction site next to a busy railway line in Munich.
The blast on Wednesday injured three people, with one of them being seriously hurt.
A column of smoke was seen rising from the site near a train station.
The site is located on the approach to Munich’s central station which is about a half-mile to the east.
Trains to and from that station were suspended.

Darn, we made quality stuff back then...
550-pound bomb!..................

I wish both of my WW2 vet grandfathers were alive, especially the one who fought in Germany. He’d get a chuckle out of the Allies getting another blast in Germany 76 years after the war. LOL
“Trains to and from that station were suspended.”
What, like an aerial tramway? It’s a long time since I was in Munich, but I don’t remember anything like that.
It’s a shame the trains were disrupted. Perhaps they will run on time again soon.

Some not all.
And as usual, it was the low bidder or a political buddy.
Indeed! Quality that lasts.
Xiden, er.... Merkel....er....Il Duce commands it..
Oldie but goodie....
Pilot calls tower in Frankfurt, gets runway and instructions and lands. Asks for directions to gate and gets a smart-assed answer from the German ground control, “What’s the matter? Haven’t you ever been to Frankfurt before?” “Well, Yes. But I DIDN’T LAND.”
I wonder just what percentage of the bombs actually did detonate.
Could this have been planned, to hurt the descendants of the Nazis long after hostilities ended?
The fuses on the bombs were mechanical devices that sometimes jammed.........................
Love it!
This bomb was probably made in the United States.
Better quality would have been the fuse detonating correctly when it hit the ground.
Danger UXB!
When I was in Italy they delayed trains out of Verona to remove a WWII bomb found along the tracks.
Some aircrew went to a lot of trouble to put that thing there.
Let that be a little reminder to the krauts in case they were starting to slip up.
