Schumer eyeing Build Back Better vote as soon as week of Dec. 13

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is planning to bring President Biden's social and climate spending bill to the floor as soon as the week of Dec. 13, a source familiar confirmed to The Hill.

Schumer's plan is to bring the bill, known as Build Back Better, to the Senate floor once Democrats finish their conversations with the parliamentarian, who provides guidance on what can be included in a bill passed through budget reconciliation.

"As soon as the necessary technical and procedural work with the Senate parliamentarian has been completed... the Senate will take up this legislation," Schumer told reporters during a press conference on Tuesday.

2 weeks until D-day. Call your representative, because they’re going to use retiring Republicans to push it through if Manchin and Sinema dodge it.

The GOP better kill this boondoggle. This is war on the economy, our finances, and the Republic.

If I recall correctly, the parliamentarian had said there are strict limits on the types of items which can be included in a reconciliation bill.

What isn’t being said explicitly, is that the discussions with the parliamentarian include arm twisting and pressures brought to bear upon her, to re-study parliamentary procedure. And then, she will come to the conclusion that, upon further review, a veritable Christmas tree of liberal dreams can now be included in such a bill.

And as we know, but bears repeating, an officially recognized reconciliation bill avoids the filibuster process, and can be approved with 50+1 votes, with Kamala casting the tie breaking vote if needed.

I’ll be shocked if they don’t push this through. Both sides get thrilled to think of government expansion and more spending. Spending = power. The political class is free to do nearly anything without consequence. Incumbents are usually re-elected. Members of the political class live a nice up scale life, regardless of the mess they make in the country.

I’m just yelling at clouds here. Nothing changes until the public is hurt, seriously hurt.

What do you mean kill it? They are part of the problem part of the conspiracy! We republicans do not have representation at the Hill. Y’all can call them, email them, whichever way you wish they’ll just ignore you until they need your vote! The only time they listen is when it’s election time. As soon as they get re-elected they backstab their base. Consider this bill a done deal. The RINOS are ready to help cheating jo and the rats keep their power! Unfortunately Consider it done!

This bill won’t get a single GOP vote. It didn’t in the House and it won’t in the Senate.

The GOP has no power to stop this. This is being pushed forward with reconciliation. The Rats only need 50 votes plus Kamel to pass this. It is not subject to the filibuster.

Manchin and Sinema are the only things standing between this and passage.

If you want to blame anyone, blame Loon Wood (the Democrat plant) and the morons who listened to him in Georgia.

From the article:Has McConnell caved? Didn't he promise (paraphrased) that the Repubs would do nothing to help the Dems on this issue. If he has caved, I'll not be surprised.
