Starting next year, the Illinois State Board of Education will rank districts based on how equitable they are, meaning how well they set up students with different circumstances to get the same outcomes.

Definitely - this is systemic communism being installed in all our schools.
Less than 2 years since the summer of love demanded it.
Face it folks - the war is on.
The state of New York recently passed a law requiring prospective school teachers to take a literacy test to get their license, but repealed it the following year because 36 percent of whites failed the test on the first try, while 54 percent of Hispanics and 59 percent of blacks failed.

In other words the State of New York is knowingly putting a large number of illiterate teachers in classrooms.
I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that Illinoize has even more illiterate government school teachers than New York.
That’s why they don’t bother with actual teaching and spend all their time on Communist indoctrination.
“Equity” is dog-whistle for “Kill Whitey.”
Enough of this crap!
Johnny can’t read, but he can steal and shoot.
All of this is just going to make home schooling and private schools that more highly subscribed to.
"Equity" means that I,a white guy who can't run, can't jump and can't shoot, will be able to get a $20 million a year contract from the NBA over those black guys who *can* run, jump and shoot because whites represent about 70% of the country's population
Here in California I’ve had fun correcting the hackneyed “English” of the various maroons who my son had to endure in high school.
The mathematicians were the worst. They were astonished when I would correct both their grammar and their math which typically had multiple errors. They aren’t used to being criticized - their customers are teenagers conditioned to thinking they are gods.
The smart people in college get jobs in the private sector and non-educational parts of the government. The smartest teachers get stomped on by the dimbulb majority who get the job because they aren’t going to get one elsewhere.
Illiteracy is just the tip of the iceberg.
You CANNOT legislate an outcome....
Them that can, do...
You know the rest.
Because they got Fs on the 3 Rs.
Illinois conservatives are welcome to move to Florida and out of the growing progressive/commie spreading hellhole.
In Florida it’s against the law to teach CRT in public schools.
Oh, and Liberal filth would not be comfortable in Florida - they should stay where they are...
Just gurantee another generation of ignorant people.
The parents that want their child to succeed will do what ever it takes to see their child is educated.
I grew up in Arlington Hts., IL, in the 1950s. I can’t imagine a better neighborhood or elementary school to go to. It is disgusting to think what has happened to that neighborhood and school with all this woke nonsense. Democrats won’t stop until they’ve ruined every aspect of middle American life and the futures of our grandchildren.
For those of you who don’t know, this was basically the idea behind Ted Kennedy’s ‘No Child Left Behind’ fiasco. (Yes, I know, GW Bush signed it in the spirt of ‘bipartisanship’, but it was Teddy’s last poke in America’s eye.)
It worked like this; every year, every public school was tested to see how many students scored ‘proficient’ or above in reading and math. Every year the standards for passing were raised, every third year the standards for passing were raised a lot.
For a school district to pass, every school in the district had to pass.
For a school to pass, every identifiable group in the school had to pass. Identifiable groups included every possible racial or ethnic group imaginable, limited English speakers, free/reduced lunch kids, boys, girls, and special ed kids. If one group failed to meet the standard, the school failed, and if one school in the district failed the district failed.
Anyone who understands anything about life and human beings knows that there is no way to reach 100% of everyone being ‘proficient’ at anything, let alone reading and math—and that was the ultimate goal of NCLB before it was abandoned, because finally people saw that it was impossible. It took at least a decade before enough were willing to say out loud what was obvious from the start.
When the proficiency goals were at 30% or so, states started to lower the standard for ‘proficient’ and schools and districts started to cheat, with teachers filling in the correct answers.
This will end up the same way. When certain identifiable groups are found not to be able to ‘meet the standards’, the schools involved will be browbeaten, the standards lowered and after the passage of time, the program will be abandoned only to be replaced by a newer program that refuses to acknowledge the reality of the bell-shaped curve.
“The parents that want their child to succeed will do what ever it takes to see their child is educated.”
Most of the parents that I work with, who do have the money to keep their kids out of government schools, STILL dump their kids into those ‘schools’. They know the government schools aren’t so great (to say the least) but they ‘claim’ they cannot afford alternatives.
Well, what they mean is that they cannot afford alternatives PLUS keep their nice, comfortable, lifestyle (again, I know what they make and what housing costs for them).
So we all make choices in life, and I guess for many, their kids are not their highest priority.
