A Northern California Apple store was targeted by thieves Wednesday in the latest smash-and-grab theft as mobs continue to commit brazen burglaries on retail shops in several U.S. cities.

Four suspects walked into the Apple store just after 11:30 a.m. in Santa Rosa, 55 miles north of San Francisco, and stole more than $20,000 worth of merchandise in broad daylight in front of customers and staff, authorities said.

I agree. A group of thieves plan a smash-and-grab. Hitting the local hair weave shop is much less profitable than a high-end store. They also figure that high-end shoppers are much less likely to interfere in their heist.

I’m suing Allstate right now on a totally legitimate claim that they are offering half on just because they can. On balance though, in the past 40 years I’ve collected way more than I’ve paid in premiums so I believe in insurance notwithstanding Allstate.

After the weather related incident, Allstate did not even bother to come by and look at the damage even though they promised to many times. So, I fixed all the damage and paid for it myself. And, even though they never saw the damage because of lying about coming out, they want to fight about it. It’s an outlaw company in my opinion.

I'm in Walnut Creek, about 25 miles east of EssEff. And the "utes" have already come here and done their thing. Luckily for us, we live in a different section than the "shoppers" visited.

I think I agree. Apple makes hundreds of millions of dollars and yet they can’t give money to the stores for armed guards? Gucci, Louis Vitton same thing. One security guard? No coverage for breaks? Like thieves don’t watch?

I suspect that the owners of these stores might have something to do with it. They hire “looters”, then turn in big insurance claims, “looters” sell the “stolen” merchandise, and split the money with the owners.

That is the stupidest comment I think I have ever read on FR. These chain stores are owned by huge corporations and are SELF INSURED for the inventories. The losses are not covered against shrinkage… even Mom & Pop store are seldom insured against theft for shoplifting. That kind of insurance is too damn expensive. Grow up and get into the real world. The cost of theft is built-in to the sales price.
