Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms quipped that she "stayed in her lane" this Thanksgiving after her mac and cheese became the butt of the holiday joke in 2018.
"Before you ask, I stayed in my lane this year," she tweeted, referencing her 2018 picture posted to Twitter that was heavily roasted. In the tweet, she added a picture of four pies.

She’s been so out of her lane for a long time. It’s why she’s not running again for mayor. She blew it last summer.
The progression of political offices is like climbing a ladder. A person in a given office, whether they will admit it or not, is always planning for the next step. So, here, decision not to run for re-election is a curious one.
I used to live in Atlanta and visit there frequently for business and to see family. So I get a taste of what it is like - and you cannot help but hear her in Hartsfield-Jackson, welcoming travelers on the PA.
She strikes me as the ultimate empty suit. Superficially slick and presentable, but underneath it all - a complete void of capability.
One of the most interesting things in politics is the politician who stops short of the brass ring in an abrupt manner. Usually like discovering the need to spend more time with his or her family.
Oftentimes an abrupt shift is dictated by the need to cut off an ethics investigation - which for Congress ends the investigation.
I do not understand what happened with Lance Bottoms, but am nonetheless glad to see her leave the stage.
