WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) — Dozens of looters swarmed into the Nordstrom store in downtown Walnut Creek Saturday night, terrorizing shoppers, ripping off bag loads of merchandise and ransacking shelves before fleeing in a several vehicles waiting for them on the street.
Walnut Creek Lt. Ryan Hibbs told KPIX 5 that police began receiving calls about the looting at around 9 p.m. He said there were approximately 80 individuals who ran into the store and began looting and smashing shelves.
Video shot at the scene shows the masked looters streaming out of the store, carrying bags and boxes, jumping into the cars.
Dozens of police vehicles also responded to the scene.
Hibbs said officers stopped one vehicle and arrested both suspects — a male and a female — inside. The male was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools. The female was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Stolen property from the looting and a firearm was recovered from their vehicle.
A third suspect was caught on foot and arrested. He was also charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Brett Barrett is one of the managers of P.F. Chang’s restaurant across from the Nordstrom store. He watched as the bedlam unfolded.
“I probably saw 50-80 people in like ski masks with crowbars, a bunch of weapons,” he said. “They were looting the Nordstrom.”
“There was a mob of people,” he continued. “The police were flying in. It was like a scene out of a movie. It was insane.”
Barrett also worried about the safety of the diners in his restaurant. Many crowded around the windows to watch the looters flee.
“I had to start locking the back door. You never know, they could come right in here. It was crazy…All the guests inside were getting concerned. It was a scary scene for a moment.”
Exactly. The sooner the better since it is inevitable.

It’s very difficult to reverse insane thinking. So unfortunately those folks will probably just adjust to the new normal.

Honestly, what good has the giverment done in the last few decades? Anything that has stuck? I honestly can’t think of anything that is stable improvement in the lives of working and law abiding citizens. It has been this way since way before the movie “Network” and the “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.” screed.

It’s just those conscientious shoppers from Oakland patronizing the eastern townships like Lafayette and Walnut Creek. A couple of those fine citizens came to pick up a Porsche I had, it wasn’t for sale, but that didn’t stop them.
They used to shoot looters on sight, back in the good days.
The good days are gone forever it seems.

The thugs are going into the rich part of town now. That's why it's suddenly a big deal and they're actually arresting people. These are Nancy's. Rich dem voters shall be protected.
This many involved someone could leak that it was to occur. Have numerous armed individuals posted in inconspicuous areas near the target and begin shooting the ones that enter the facility and have stolen product. This would be a good deterrent but I don’t think it will happen in California, Oregon or Washington. Ironic that this only happens in strict CCW states.

Where I live if someone comes through a door or window they are likely to roll very quickly right back out.
So the best the police could do was stop only one of 25 or more cars?! And they even had helicopters to follow the cars? Cameras likely everywhere? Maybe defunding the police would not make much difference at all in some communities.
Too bad we can no longer depend on the FBI to step in and round everyone up.
I don't know about you, but I have absolutely zero desire to put forth the type of effort it would take to reclaim deep blue urban areas from the left. They voted for those local governments, as they are entitled to, so let them suffer the consequences. It's not our place to deprive them the enjoyment of their electoral victories.
The people in those areas who don't support those policies she just get the hell out, and leave the left is to be consumed by the monster they created.

Every cloud has a silver lining……at least the looters didn’t get any of Ivanka Trump’s fashion line. That’s because Nordstrom cancelled her brand in their stores in 2018 for political reasons, being one of the first of many stores, leading to the eventual decline of her business.
This woke-leftist society is which criminality is coddled and excused in the name of dismantling “systemic racism” is unsustainable. We can’t survive as a country like this.
