The Biden administration auctioned off over 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil drilling Wednesday despite a campaign promise to ban new oil and gas leasing, the Boston Globe reported.
The auction is the largest offshore oil and gas lease sale in the United States, according to the Boston Globe. The new leases will produce 1.1 billion barrels of oil and 4.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to a Department of the Interior estimate, the Globe reported.

Sure....... While at the same time continuing to fund ‘non-profits’ that use Federal funds to sue to stop drilling.

He didn’t have any choice. The courts ordered him to do this.

He didn’t have any choice. The courts ordered him to do this. Well, technically, at least for those of us who are confident "The Big Guy" will continue to take every opportunity to work the money angle, cash or otherwise, he did have a choice.
According to one of the groups that hold his broken promise: “...the Administration is hiding behind the order of one judge while that decision is under appeal and the law grants the Secretary of the Interior all the authority needed to stop this...”

They don’t mind fleecing oil companies for the price of the lease, but they will NEVER let them produce the oil.

Chevron, Exxon are among top spenders at Biden offshore auctionChevron was the auction's biggest spender with $47.1 million, followed by
Anadarko, owned by Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY.N),
BP (BP.L) and Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L).
Exxon rounded out the top five, snapping up nearly a third of the tracts that sold for $14.9 million, making it the biggest buyer by acreage.

Nah, he'll just replace any oil from China Asia that they (ahem...Asia) send from their Petroleum Reserve.
USA Already Exporting Oil from SPR at Record Pace
About 1.6 million barrels of crude from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve -- a monthly record -- was shipped out in October, according to data from market intelligence firm Kpler. Three cargoes were loaded onto a supertanker in the U.S. Gulf Coast and are headed to Asia.
Now who, in Asia can store that much oil?
EXCLUSIVE U.S. asks Japan, China, others to consider tapping oil reserves -sources
China's state reserve bureau said it was working on a release of crude oil reserves although it declined to comment on the U.S. request.
The long con.
A round trip and America will wind up paying "Asia" for its own oil and it never needs to be stored, just shipped.

So we're shipping out oil at "a record pace"...
“Given the ongoing pace of the current SPR release -- 12 million barrels in the last two months and the biggest weekly release so far last week at 3.1 million barrels -- it’s fair to assume more SPR barrels are going to leave U.S. shores in the weeks ahead,” said Matt Smith, an oil analyst at Kpler. ...and yet we're begging around the world for oil.
