Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) met on Thursday as they look for an off-ramp from a looming fight over the debt ceiling.
“We had a good discussion about several different issues that are all extant as we move toward the end of the session,” McConnell told reporters.
“We agreed to kind of keep talking, working together to try to get somewhere,” McConnell added.

Why bother? You’re just going to cave in, Turtle.
It never enters their minds to stop spending money they don’t have. That’s just crazy talk.

What an absolute, useless pieces of feces.
The rats are only allowed one more reconciliation bill Ted this year. They could use it to raise the debt ceiling and BBB would be dead for this year. Of course we would t want to use a political weapon to our advantage by making them do that. Instead we look for offramps
Those two deserve each other IMO.
I’m sure China Mitch will come up with something the democrats will like
NO debt ceiling increase, under any circumstances.
Fed.gov MUST reform itself.
A debt ceiling that doesn’t function as a debt ceiling isn’t a debt ceiling.
Come now folks, the national debt is only about $200,000 per working American, part-timers included.
And if you considered those American workers that really have no money to spare and are in fact getting government help to pay their bills, the national debt might be about $400,000 per self-supporting working American.
And there’s another way, we can deal with the national debt by cheating our creditors big time. They’ll just swallow $30 trillion in losses with a smile. There’s absolutely no chance the creditors might try to take physical revenge on those American politicians that cheated them out of $30 trillion. It would never, ever happen.
Don’t the Democrats control both the Senate and House?
And wouldn’t Joe be able to write his name on the bill after passage?
The off ramp he said he wasn’t going to take just a few weeks ago?
They waived bid rules and got this brand new off ramp built with funds from the “infrastructure” bill Mitch collaborated on.
Hey Mitch , Just Say NO
“We had a good discussion about several different issues that are all extant as we move toward the end of the session,” McConnell told reporters.
“We agreed to kind of keep talking ….”
In other words, Mitch, the Republican slimeball, has named his price to Schmuck, the Dim slimeball, and is waiting to be paid.
