The former head of the Food and Drug Administration warned Sunday that there’s “no question” that there will be a surge in COVID-19 cases after Thanksgiving gatherings.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb, who sits on the board of Pfizer, said he anticipates the uptick in cases already seen in more than a dozen states to continue after the Nov. 25 holiday.

There will be more flu cases because we’re getting into fall/winter and guess what? Flu cases go up then. So much for the “experts”. My great grandparents knew this, but still survived Thanksgiving.

Not just cases. Deaths involving COVID are up in Arizona compared to this same time last year. There were 273 COVID deaths in Arizona in September 2020. This past September 2021, the state incurred 1,147 COVID deaths. In October 2020, Arizona experienced 259 COVID deaths. In October 2021, the state incurred 966 COVID deaths.
Those 1,147 COVID deaths in September 2021 represent the fifth highest monthly total since the pandemic began. The October 2021 figure is the sixth highest.
According to the CDC, 72.9% of Arizona's population age 12 and older is now vaccinated. For those age 65 and older, the figure is 81.3%. In September and October of 2020, of course, no one in Arizona had yet been vaccinated.
And if it doesn’t happen for real, they will jack the numbers to make sure it happens.
Not to mention a lot of people from Canada already here. I wonder if they are factored in????
