The media framed Kyle Rittenhouse — and won’t come clean even after the prosecution’s case falls apart
NY Post ^ | November 11, 2021 | William A. Jacobson

Media malpractice has come full circle in Kenosha, Wis.

...

From the start, the media misrepresented the Blake case and ensuing riots. They portrayed Blake as an unarmed man who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, subjected to police brutality due to racism.

The truth was far different.

After an intensive investigation, prosecutors declared Blake’s shooting a justifiable use of force. The federal Justice Department reached the same conclusion.

...

As with the Black Lives Matter riots in Minneapolis and beyond, the mainstream media incessantly focused away from the violence, despite almost 20 related deaths and more than $1 billion in damage.

Perhaps the most notorious example is CNN reporter Omar Jimenez standing in front of burning buildings in Kenosha with the on-air chyron reading “Fiery but mostly peaceful protests after police shooting.” The phrase “mostly peaceful” is now a popular Internet meme used to mock distorted mainstream media coverage.

...

From the inception of the Blake shooting, to the riots and now to the Rittenhouse trial, media malpractice has framed a Kenosha narrative completely divorced from reality.

How is this possible?

The media are a large group of independent organizations, watchdogs of the government.

I have heard about ‘talking points’ and stuff, but how can that work when there is no consensus?

There is a consensus. It’s just after their communications were penetrated a few times the media have burrowed so deep underground we will never see the communications where they decide how they are going to spin their story. The only evidence is when on the same day they all tell it the same way. Coincidence? No.

It’s great that the Post published it, but the article itself is written by William Jacobsen of Legal Insurrection, which has had by far the best coverage and commentary on the entire saga.

The FIB has become the Democrat Party’s Gestapo. I never thought America would come to this.

I read the Madison (Madison.com) and Milwaukee (JSOnline) papers and they have been trying to frame this as a white supremacist vs BLM incident - when that was really not involved. Self-defense is evaluated based on the immediate facts of the moment (physical, forensic), not political affiliations or your grandmother’s religion. The news media may want it to be that kind of conflict, but it’s not. My concern is that when the media have done a poor job of covering trials (e.g., OJ criminal trial) the public perception suffers a bit of whiplash when the result comes down. I hope that the defense team has made arrangements to get Rittenhouse and his family safely out of the courthouse, out of the city, and out of the state ASAP, after what I expect will be an acquittal on Tuesday of next week. With the media casting this as something is it not, there could be a real mob ginned up and waiting for him as he leaves the courthouse.

George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota was selling
fentanyl and other drugs when he was arrested. He swallowed it during his arrest and died from it. He was selling death and the world is better that he died and not anyone else.

You might as well bring up that on an average weekend in Minnesota, there’s probably five or six overdose situations with fentanyl, and some folks die (without getting into the news).

I always look at this episode...if the cops had asked some questions at the scene and Floyd had done a better job in explaining the counterfeit $20 (the cause of the whole event), he would have swallowed fentanyl when outside of the vehicle, cops might have taken notes and just left him, then Floyd would have died ten minutes later in the company of his two associates in the vehicle.

Once the counterfeit $20 occurs, and the cops arrive...the script is done, and Floyd is going to die that day...one way or another.

Note: to this day...no one has ever answered where the $20 came from.

Nope. The late ElRushbo nailed it when he dubbed them the Drive-Bys. They’ve vented their hate onto that situation. Now they’re driving on down the road looking for another victim to hate. JMHO.

The LAAP-dog media is stuck with their narrative because Kamala Harris spoke to Jacob Blake on the telephone and said that she was "proud of him."

To impugn Blake is to impugn Harris, too.

They use identical phrasing all the time so they obviously all get their talking points from one place.

That's OK. I imagine that when it's over, Kyle Rittenhouse will join Nick Sandman in shopping for a new yacht soon.

Exactly, by giving the public the wrong idea about what is happening in the trial, they are setting the situation up for “peaceful protests” over the hopefully inevitable not guilty verdict (or dismissal).
