“There was madness in any direction, at any hour. If not across the Bay, then up the Golden Gate or down 101 to Los Altos or La Honda. . . . You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . . And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . . So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.”

No cops. "Soros" DA. Commie Mayor. Free love. Legalized MJ. Streets for toilets. Drugs galore. No "rules". Everything "free" from any store. Homeless living in tents on every corner. LGBTQ mainstreamed. That sounds like Pinocchio's Pleasure Island.

Lived on Ashbury 4 doors up from The Grateful Deads house back in the 90s fun time, great location 20 minutes downtown, to the ocean, or across the Golden Gate. Good Mendocino weed too.

Seems to me that the good people of San Francisco, and California in general, have done a very good job of destroying the GOP. Seemingly, however, that does not seem to have saved them in the least. Quite the opposite fact.
Who would have thunk it?

Who cares? If your neighborhood is overrun with thieves, surreptitiously hire the Hell’s Angels to hang out there, with axe handles. If a thief is caught and left with his hands beaten to a pulp, he won’t be back. Make your neighborhood inhospitable to thieves and the thieves will leave.

Feeling easy on the outside
But not so funny on the inside
Feel the sound, pray for rain
For this is the night we ride
This ain’t the garden of Eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
Lock all your doors from the outside
The key will dangle by the inside
You may begin to understand
That this is the night we ride
This ain’t the garden of Eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
On the night we ride, this ain’t the summer of love.
This ain’t the garden of eden
There ain’t no angels above
And things ain’t like what they used to be
And this ain’t the summer of love
This ain’t the summer, this ain’t, this ain’t
This ain’t the summer of love

If the existing governmnet of California, of the United States even, cannot control this it will eventually fall and be replaced by a government that can.
You are so correct. Unfortunately the replacement will be painful.
