Seattle Public schools announced on Tuesday that there would be no school on Friday due to a staffing shortage.
In an email to parents the district announced, "Seattle Public Schools will be closed on Friday, November 12. We are aware of an unusually large number of SPS staff taking leave on Friday, and do not believe we have adequate personnel to open schools with the necessary environment for high-quality learning. This is a change from the published schedule, and we recognize the late notice creates challenging circumstances for many families."
Students had a day off already scheduled for Thursday for Veterans Day.
Following Governor Jay Inslee’s vaccine mandates, thousands of employees across the state were fired for non-compliance. According to the Seattle Times, Democrat Governor Jay Inslee fired nearly 1,900 state workers that did not submit vaccination records, a requirement ordered by Inslee that had an October 18 deadline. Those numbers don't include workers that were fired by their local governments which is predicted to be in the thousands.

It’s all going smoothly and to plan.
*Next week: Everyone will be required to learn the Soviet national anthem.
With a little prep and direct supervision, I’ll bet some of the older kids could have served as deputized Student Teacher Aides. It was always a high honor when I could help some of my teachers out. Better still if done in a class I already liked and understood.
Public schools, all of them are child abuse; all of them, everywhere.
This is wonderful news those kids will learn more watching documentaries on YouTube than they would in a classroom.
But have those older kids already undergone the required course of "anti-racist" seminars?
Have they been properly trained in the use of pronouns?
Are they qualified to instruct the younger kids in CRT?
I have no doubt that many parents would be more than happy (and more qualified, in the traditional sense of the word) to "fill in."
Why this talk of "deputized Student Teacher Aides?" I know that such little stroll down "Memory Lane" might be very enjoyable and/or comforting for some - but the Titanic is sinking, and you are suggesting that we re-arrange the deck chairs.
Regards,
Governor Jay Inslee
At least some good is coming from all this BS
This is just an excuse to create a four-day weekend. Lame.
Can’t be true.
The vaccine saves you. It doesn’t hurt you!
Bwa ha ha ha ha... stop it you guys. You’re killin me.
I went to Burger King drive-through today. The person on the intercom said they weren’t taking orders. When I asked why I was told it was because they are under staffed today. Every fast food joint and convenience store that I’ve been to lately have had Signs in the window Saying that they are hiring.
Maybe the school staff have become police officers in Seattle, more money can be made as a cop in Seattle.
Shortages of educators - not so bad. The shortage of hospital staff, border patrol, truck drivers and more due to Vax requirements - very ominous of what is to come soon.
These are Soviet style purges of anyone who will not instantly obey commands of THE PARTY.
Four day weekend.
Sad thing is, the admins don’t care. They demand subservience to their dictates or they’ll fire you.
Absolutely. But the district can't get enough substitute teachers to fill in. Normally teachers are not afforded personal time off days during the school year unless for medical or bereavement so this is a change from previous years.
Somebody had better wake up & smell the coffee while we still have a nation. Doesn’t make sense to do all this mandating for one cause of death when there are others even more serious. Of course, auto accident deaths don’t sell as many pills & enrich pharmaceutical companies.
... and of anyone who will not always put "The Collective" ahead of their own self-interest/Liberty.
In my district, if you miss after a paid holiday, it is no longer a paid holiday.
