New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) announced on Tuesday that he will not run for Senate in 2022 and will instead seek another term as governor.
The decision leaves an open field for other Republicans to challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan (N.H.) in the midterms.
Republicans in Washington, including National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee Chair Rick Scott (R-Fla.), had pushed for Sununu to launch a challenge against Hassan. The GOP views the seat, which non-partisan Cook Political Report rates it as “lean Democratic,” as a potential pickup in their bid to take back the Senate.

Extremely good news...
Another bush lackey bites the dust...
Quite right. One day, a Trump will be following in his father’s footsteps. Then a grandson of the great man. Then they’ll be as bad as the Kennedys. Dynasties always turn out disappointing.
I suspected he was out...the democrats have been running a massive TV campaign against him for the last 6 months without an answer from Sununu.
*He’s a Sununu. We’re had enough of the Sununu clan, period. I still haven’t forgotten John Sununu Sr. promising George H.W. that David Souter would be a “home run for conservatives”*
You’re missing something here. The elder Sununu was a real a$$hole. Fine by me. We need more of them to deal with the rats on their level.
In your opinion.
Put someone on a ballot that they don’t want or like. Someone that has to rely on other people’s money. See how far they get.
Even if they are useless, in your opinion, they’re loyal toads and turds for the national apparatus. Doing its bidding in the hopes of being brought up to the varsity at some point.
Former Senator John E. Sununu allegedly considering making the race.

😁
Used to be a time there were two Basses in Congress from the ‘50s to the ‘60s. Perkins from NH and Ross from down here in TN. Perkins was very quiet and Ross would never shut up. Their fellow members called Perkins “Small Mouth Bass” and Ross was called “Large Mouth Bass.”
Perkins tried to win a Senate seat to succeed Styles Bridges, but shockingly lost to a Dem in the 1962 special (after a barnburner of a GOP primary that featured both Congressmen including Perkins and (future Dem) Chester Merrow, the appointed Senator Maurice Murphy and the Widow Bridges, the latter who lost by a very narrow 1.7% margin to Perkins). The Dem, Tom McIntyre, ended up holding the seat for the next 16 years until he was beaten by Gordon Humphrey in 1978.
2 years later, Ross did manage to win a brutal primary over Gov. Frank Clement (Bob’s dad) for a special Senate race in 1964 (so the Basses missed out on serving together in the Senate). He only served for 2 years when the full term came up, and Ross lost to Frank this time in an upset. But much like with the free-for-all in NH, the seat was lost to a Republican, Howard Baker, Jr.
So here was the story how the involvement of two Basses cost their respective parties safe and solid Senate seats in their states.
I recall the Bass that served in Congress recently was pretty RINOish. It would be pretty pathetic if John Sununu Jr. was the "most conservative" of the Sununu/Gregg/Bass trio of pampered Governor's kids.
Lol
Well played
Old men who poop crude and can have your head chopped off one inch at a time on a whim

Oman on far left chooses more exotic headgear..

Same source now says Sununu Jr is OUT and a high-quality consensus candidate will step forward soon.”
IOW, a democrat.
No known relation between the two. Only noting how they altered the course of one-party control in each of their states with respect to a Senate seat (which in both cases took three terms to regain control again).
When you mentioned another Bass serving in Congress at the same time in another state, I immediately assumed it must have been a case of the family dynasty exporting their clan to other states. Instead, it just sounds like the case of powerful political RAT family Richard E. Byrd, Harry F. Byrd & Harry F. Byrd Jr. in Virginia and the unrelated but almost identically named and similarly powerful RAT Senator Robert C. Byrd in West Virginia.
Naah, nobody in rural west-central Tennessee heard of Perkins Bass or the New Hampshire Basses. Just ole Ross.
I struggle to imagine either someone we could consider “high quality” or “consensus” let alone tick both of those boxes.
Might have to go with Trump Endorsed General Bolduc. In a recent poll he only trails the rat by 5.
?
State Senate President Chuck Morse enters the race, called conservative but boring. Primary is in SEPTEMBER, very late.
In other NH news, Governor Sununu doesn’t like the idea of improving his parties odds of winning a US house seat in NH (redistricting). What a douche.
