Allies of Jim Jordan are furious with the state GOP and Governor Mike DeWine for potentially putting the prominent House Republican’s seat on the line in a proposed redistricting map, Fox News has learned.
The Buckeye State’s Senate Republican Party proposed a redistricting map last week that turned heads and drew ire from Jordan’s allies. According to the proposed map, Jordan could be billed up against Democrat Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio for the 4th Congressional District’s seat.
Kevin Eichinger, a spokesperson for the Jordan campaign, suggested the proposed map was an attempt to draw the congressman out of his seat. “John Boehner tried to draw Mr. Jordan out 10 years ago. It didn’t work then. It won’t work now,” Eichinger said. “Mr. Jordan is running for reelection.”
Ohio Senate Majority Leader Matt Huffman’s office did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment.

Jordan said he wouldn’t run for SENATE. He’s currently a Congressman, which is how the eGOP powerbrokers who still control the state party can try to jerrymander him out of his seat.
I’d love to see him turn around and run for Portman’s seat after all. Would smack down that phoney conservative Vance whom they are trying to force on us. Much as I like Josh Mandel, I’d jump for Jordan in a New York Minute.

Mike DeWine said Biden would win Ohio. Trump won by 8.
Ohio Senator Portman is not running for reelection. Jordan is not running for that Senate seat. He is running for reelection to Congress though.
DeWine is DeDick.
Does Jordan need to actually reside in the district in which he will run? So just because the RINOs have eliminated his current district, can’t he just pick the next-closest one — even if that means running against another incumbent R in the primary or causing THAT Republican to also switch districts?
Ten years ago the RINO squishes in the Florida state legislature did the same thing there too, destroying the districts of the 2 most conservative Reps in the House delegation at that time (Allen West, Sandy Adams) and forcing them into districts where they would lose. It worked brilliantly then and there’s likely no reason why these Ohio RINO cowards won’t make it work for them too.
Leave it to the Stupid Party to focus more on eliminating conservative Republicans in redistricting than eliminating Democrats. I’m sure that Kevin McCarthy, Liz Cheney and Ronna Romney are squealing with delight.
He’s running for re-election to the House, not Senate..
