Virginia Republicans wrestled away control of the Virginia House of Delegates to take away the Democrats’ 55-45 majority held since 2019.

In Tuesday’s close election that saw Republicans sweep all three statewide races, Republicans also won back at least six seats in the Commonwealth’s lower chamber, resulting in a one-person majority for Republicans, according to data from the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP).

Trump and the voters were cheated. Big difference.

Which suppresses the male testosterone vote.

Trump's MAGA base came out for Youngkin just fine yesterday.

But we need more than the MAGA base to win elections.

The only reason Trump won in 2016 is because a lot of people who couldn't stand the guy held their noses and voted for him because they loathed Hillary even more. Biden wasn't nearly as loathed in 2020.

This just keeps getting better and better. But it’s not soup yet. 2022 is still a year away.

Sure, there was fraud. Some.

There was also Donald Trump, a candidate that is absolutely toxic to suburban voters.

Yes, I get that the base here on FR loves the guy. Hell, I love him too! But I also realize that he's not going to ever win another election unless the Democrats are stupid enough to nominate Kamala Harris, and then he's only got a chance.

Put Trump up in 2024 and the election map will look just like it did in 2020. The guy is too old and has too much baggage. We can do better. Kudos to President Trump for pointing the party in the right direction but it's time to move on and find a different standard-bearer.

Hence my tagline.

Have to disagree, but of course its Trumps nomination if he wants it. Trump beat EVERY challenging GOPer in his Primary and then beat Hillary despite the cheat. That enthusiasm is still there. In three years who knows, but this talk about him being toxic is crap. Thats only if you already believe the propaganda spewed by the left and were never going to vote for him anyway. Trumps failure was underestimating how he would be betrayed by deep state on both sides of the aisle. I doubt he makes that mistake again, if he chooses to run.

The “absolutely toxic” Donald Trump got the most legal votes in American presidential history, far surpassing the first term of “saint” Obama. He gained votes in every demographic and took more counties than he did in 2016. His crowds and enthusiasm were massive and unprecedented. But you can go on believing that Basement Biden got 81 million votes. The only way De Santis wins is if President Trump steps aside. He’s smart enough to know that and won’t waste his opportunity on a futile attempt. If he backs President Trump in 2024, the nomination is his in 2028.

Joe Biden didn't get 81 million votes. "Not Trump" got 81 million votes.

There's a difference.

Two things puzzled me in the advertising. What was this about the FBI at the end of the ad scorching McK for saying parents shouldn’t tell public schools what to teach? The other is our new governor’s statement he would spend large amounts of money on schools, but eliminate some taxes and apparently nothing about raising any others. How will he do that?

“Too many suburban moms were turned off not by Trumps policies but by him personally.”

Yeah, well boo-effin-hoo. In voting against Trump they cut their teats to spite their womanhood.

Men who universally appeal to suburban Moms don’t kick ass, take names, bust Democrat skulls, electrify national economies, terrify bureaucrats, or erase decades of regulatory strangulation.

The Executive demands a hard-nosed strategist, not a tea-and-crumpets, inert gas stand in for Mister Rogers.

Seq, I work in the business and I can tell you as fact that the democrats treat VA as their test for the mid terms. It’s the only state where everything comes into play and they don’t have to travel to those icky places like Ohio or Wisconsin. It’s mostly rural surrounding the immediate suburbs, which mirrors all the battleground states. NoVa is more way more affluent than say suburban Columbus or Milwaukee, but the racial and socioeconomic demos match up pretty well with all battleground states. It’s close to DC and the area is flooded with analysts who live in Arlington, Alexandria, Loudoun and now Fauquier counties. The problem they faced is that they didn’t have a message, the the repubs did. Terry was a familiar face that polled well with democrats and they didn’t think they had to try real hard, similar to what Hillary thought in 2016.

I hope they continue on this path.

The national party apparatus better be pilfering his team, and the Cittarelli team for national strategists because they both outperformed in states they had no business winning. Like in the disaster movies when they good guys find the enemy’s weakness and they spread the news on how to exploit it. Make them defend every seat.

The state senate is democrat controlled, so it will be difficult to pass any election reform.

It’s only 21-19, so the donks are looking at each other checking everyone’s pulse. If another seat flips, ther is a Lt Governor who can break ties…
