Virginia Department of Elections Commissioner Chris Piper issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon after reports of voters being turned away from polling places for not masking surfaced.
“We have gotten several reports of voters either being turned away or being made to wait until the polling place is clear before being allowed to vote if they refuse to wear a mask,” Piper wrote. “You may not turn voters away because they are not wearing masks.”

Announce after the voters have left the polls. Come on, people! You should have been aware enough to have brought along a mask just in case. Seems some conservatives have a death wish and want to lost this (and other) elections.
Right. How many GOP voters refuse masks versus the number of Dem voters?
Like how many Planned Parenthood and ACLU staff are wearing MAGA hats to the polling place. Not too many.
*lose
I would have masked up and voted. This is how they win every time.
This.
We should be telling Democrats out in the parking lot that they should come back tomorrow and avoid the lines.
I would have told them to GF themselves and stayed until I got to vote. I would have called the media and the cops. They would have HEARD me a mile away.
F**K THESE PEOPLE! IT'S TIME TO STANDS UP AND BE HEARD!
I voted in person today. At the polling place I did not open my mouth. I handed the polling worker my driver’s license, confirmed my residence, signed in and received my ballot all without saying a word. That is the way to vote!
I hate those masks as much as most people do (those people who are sane. IOW, not Democrats), but I always bring one just in case.
Couldn’t those people think ahead?
If Youngkin voters left the polling place over refusing to wear a mask, he deserves to lose. I guess they weren’t “broken glass” voters.
Me too. Can’t believe their shortsighted.
I am a fan of voting and then suing individuals in Small Claims Court for around 500.00 and get all to do the same. None of this getting attorneys and waiting forever.
1. Put on mask
2. Vote
3. Remove mask
Yeah, I never wear a mask but we always have them in the car. Slap one on and vote. Toss it in the trash on your way out. Big deal. Makes this hard to believe. Clickbaity
After the late mail-in ballots are counted Democrats will retain the Governor’s house in VA...
We had constitutional amendments to vote on here in Texas. My husband and I wore our masks because they had a sign asking nicely for voters to consider wearing masks. So we did. No big deal. I think had the sign requested us to wear masks rudely we would have not worn them. But no big deal. We weren’t forced so we wore them anyways.
NoVa dropped the mask requirement months ago. Maybe they didn’t have one.
If that was the case, the Republican table should have had masks to hand out. One’s that say YOUNGKIN!

Kept my mask in my pocket and voted without problem. In an area that would vote for J. Stalin Democrat.
