De Blasio Says ‘Human Reality’ Is Workers Will Comply With Vaccine Mandate Rather Than Lose Pay
The Epoch Times ^ | October 30, 2021 | Tom Ozimek

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he expects to see a rise in vaccinations among municipal workers in line with his mandate, telling reporters that the “human reality” is city employees will decide to get the shot rather than face unpaid leave.

De Blasio made the remarks during an Oct. 28 press conference, on the eve of a looming Oct. 29 deadline for municipal workers to receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with no testing opt-out, or face being sent home without pay starting Monday, Nov. 1.

Thousands of municipal workers took to the streets in protests earlier in the week after de Blasio announced a sweeping mandate in the prior week requiring the entire municipal workforce to get vaccinated, with no testing option.

Asked by a reporter at Thursday’s press conference whether he was having any second thoughts about the mandate given the likelihood that some police, fire, and sanitation workers would rather quit or go on leave rather than get the shot, the New York mayor replied in the negative.

“No, I am not having second thoughts,” de Blasio said. “We expected that a lot of the vaccinations would happen toward the end of the deadline. We also know a lot of people make the decision once they really realize that they’re not going to get paid. That’s just the human reality.”

takes balls for a German to pretend he’s Italian. It takes a moron to believe him.

And it takes a slobbering imbecile to elect him in the first place.

I take it you are out west.

If my company demands it. I will sell off everything.

I will quit and put an RV down by the river.

I am in NC but would probably get much closer to TN.

I secure power operations at data centers. Good luck finding a backfill for that.

One or two generations at this rate, there won’t be anyone who knows how to do that work. Or run nuclear power plants. Or replace high voltage wires. Or provide clean water. Or secure the food supply. Etc etc.

I am out west.
Eastern Kentucky is in my top three.
More likely, northern Nevada.

I know people there.

You have some very big data centers outside of Reno.

I helped start one of them up.

It is a neat area but kinda lonely.

Push people hard enough and they reach a FU moment. They’re not backing down. De Blassio is a dictator who thinks he can crush the little people. He’s in for a wake up call Nov 1.

Lonelier than a trailer by the river? :-)

Mostly because of the business I am in, I want to get out of the high taxes, over-regulation, the ridiculous fees and permits, and the obscene property values (though some parts are quite expensive for residential, for industrial it is 1/4-1/3 the cost).

And also, like data centers, the weather is much better for what I do. Many in my industry have moved to Arizona but it boggles my mind. The ambient temperature is way too hot, unless you want to pay to air condition a warehouse. Northern Nevada can get warm for a few months a year, but still cooler than where I am now. And the rest of the year, much better for what I do.

I did live out west for a time.

Tonopah on the secret stuff and actually the southwest of AZ.

Yea, it was a tad hot. Lived in Chandler a bit and finally came back east.

AZ was the best. I know damn near all the 15 counties in that state. I was outdoors quite a bit. There are mines there that only I could see. Who could say they camped in Harshaw?

I have a book on the Lost Dutchman that seems to be worth 700 bucks now.

I enjoy the water, trees and change of seasons near the Appalachians.

I guess I’m getting old. It’s all good. :^)

"Yes, force works. There is nothing more malleable than morality. That's just the human reality," de Blasio continued. "Threaten to take away a man's livelihood, and you can get him to do almost anything!!

I, for one, believe him.

He combines all the warmth and compassion traditionally attributed to the Germans with the proverbial efficiency and modesty of the Italians.
