California Gov. Gavin Newsom will travel to Glasgow, Scotland, next month for the United Nations climate conference, his first major conference abroad since becoming governor in 2019.
Newsom will attend the conference alongside his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and several members of his administration, including Environmental Protection Secretary Jared Blumenfeld and Natural Resources Secretary Wade Crowfoot. More than a dozen Democrats in the Legislature also plan to attend, according to Newsom’s office.
Newsom’s announcement that he will attend the conference comes on the heels of his administration releasing a draft rule that would ban new oil drilling within 3,200 feet – more than half a mile – of schools, homes and other sensitive buildings like hospitals. Newsom has also previously set ambitious targets for California to combat climate change, including signing an executive order to phase out sales of new gas-powered cards by 2035 and directing his state agencies to plan to phase out oil extraction in California by 2045.

Glasgow is kinda icky really. Gray and dreary. Like Newsome. He will fit right in. Hope he stays there.
Still, nicer than California, much more tolerant. They even allow offshore oil drilling, off of Scotland.
Well, California has won the coveted “Most Human Feces on the Urban Sidewalk” Award. Hands down. I’m sure the Scots can’t wait to kiss his ring.
So how did he get there?

Oh yeah, is he going to mention his policies cause CA to burn year after year, and then you get the floods and landslides, and the routine brownouts when people need energy the most, and super high energy costs, and then his brilliant move to ban gas powered law mowers?
I dunno about you but I think Newsome is just brilliant.

I don’t who in Scotland is among the people who share my ancestors’ dna. I was about to say bop him on the noggin with a walking stick but thought better of it. A Scottish thistle crook, a shillelagh or a cromach.

If you use a walking stick to help your balance as you walk, it’s legal. The minute you start viewing it as a weapon, even for self defense, it could be considered a billy club under California Penal Code §22210 and you could be charged with a felony or misdemeanor.
That’s why anyone who carries a baseball bat in his car should also have a ball & glove, and NEVER tell police it’s for protection.

So. Newsome is flying off to Scotland leaving 200,000 container ships foundering off the coast due to his inept transportation policies.
