Wasn’t Hertz just selling off their remaining inventory of cars as they were in bankruptcy?

Now they’re buying Teslas?

Hardly Mainstream. Maybe 1 in 10,000.

This is not including Hybrids, but electric only.

LOL
They’ll have to discount them heavily. They would have to rent to me for free and then I’d probably say TANSTAAFL.

Had OJ been driving a Hertz Tesla instead of the Bronco he might have gotten away.

In before all the luddite shrills scream coal powered blah blah.

Get with the times boomer. Coal is less than 20% of total electricity made. Natural gas is by far the largest share. With nuclear and renewables both individually making more than coal does. Put another way 40% of the total USA power is from nuclear and renewables so if anything these EVs are more nuclear and renewables powered than coal BY FAR.

No GT350s? One thing those t-cars don’t have, despite their acceleration capabilities, is the awesome sound my Ram Hemi has through the borla cat back exhaust. Gotta say, it’s the best sounding truck on the street. I don’t get to hear it very often but Mrs rktman took it to the store the other day and I went outside when she left. Noice!!!!!

Who would want to RENT an electric vehicle? Sounds like a great way to wreck a vacation!

Could I ask on question of much better informed people here?

When EV availability started I heard someone interviewed who said “No, your regular socket for a reading lamp or a TV can’t be used. You have to have a big socket like the ones for a clothes dryer installed in your garage or wherever you run your power line for the car charge.”

Is that true or still true?

I did hear a person on a business meeting trip heading out of town with a rental EV was told “They have a row of chargers at the biggest parking structure downtown. You can plug it in there.”

Or he would have saved us money and been incinerated when the Tesla hits a tree.

Friend of a local right wing talk guy here told him when he got to the rental car place they had ONLY EV cars there. Gas cars were 100% rented and gone. That trend will probably take off now.

His trip would require a re-charge while he was at a conference before a trip back to town here.

I know a car rental company I won’t be renting a car from.

I’ll be looking for the rental car company that starts with an “E” instead, until they too go all-electric.

Somebody should be starting a car rental company that promises “no EVs here”. I bet they would eat up the competition that has all-EVs.

Was thinking the same. I understand that with an EV that you charge at home and drive locally, you might be able to get into a routine that minimizes the inconvenience of recharging. But the last thing I’d want while on vacation is a bunch of recharging hassles. I’m sorry. Hertz is stupid. I get that some people think Teslas are “cool,” but I can fill the tank of any gasoline-powered vehicle in 5 minutes at any of countless gas stations everywhere. Why would I sacrifice that convenience?

At a guess, I’d say that Hertz is getting some sort of subsidy from the Govt. Or is doing this to ingratiate themselves with the DemonRATs is search of some rent.

We’ll have to read the new Dem “climate” bill after it passes to find out how much gravy is being dispensed.
