Health and Human Services Secretary biden Becerra said Monday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that the unvaccinated need to stop being “selfish” and get the vaccination.

I saw Mayor De Blasio last week, and I will tell you that the city is going to do— the city doesn’t want to go back, New York City doesn’t want to go back to what it experienced a year, two years ago when it had essentially shut down. It really affected everyone. You need to be safe. It’s not just vaccination. It’s making sure you’re testing, you’re doing the hygiene, and right now, requiring workers to be vaccinated is something you’re seeing by the public sector and the private sector. We need to get out of this pandemic, and everyone has to be part of that. If you want to do stuff in public if you want to do stuff with others, you got to be part of the team, and part of the team means you have to be safe and let others be safe around you. If I choose to not get vaccinated, how is that being “selfish”? If you are vaccinated, and the vaccine is as effective as advertised, then what do you have to worry about? You won’t catch anything from me. In fact, I think I would be more likely to catch something from you. You, being vaccinated, could be walking around transmitting the virus without knowing it, since your symptoms might not even be noticeable. Whereas I, if I had the virus, would likely be experiencing noticeable symptoms and thus would isolate myself.

There were 17,580 new cases out of a population of 330 million yesterday. The states with the highest new cases were PA, NY, OH, CA, AZ, and TX in that order each with 1000+ new cases.
That said it appears that a lot of states didn’t report - it was a Sunday. Maybe much of that data is incomplete. Today, PA reported 2,427 new cases. No other state data appears in the worldometer for today.
No idea what percentage of these new cases were among the vaccinated. They don’t report that.
