Friday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci sounded off on Gen. Colin Powell dying of complications from a reported breakthrough case of COVID-19.
Co-host Willie Geist asked Fauci what he would tell people who argue Powell’s death shows the coronavirus vaccine doesn’t work.
Fauci, noting the “extremely unusual” situation Powell was in due to age and health, said the former Secretary of State himself would tell the vaccine-hesitant to “go ahead and get vaccinated.”
“First of all, it was very unfortunate. General Powell was truly a great, great American, and it’s very sad that he passed away,” Fauci replied. “But, as he himself — I knew General Powell, an extraordinary man — he would tell you himself, go ahead and get vaccinated because it really is a highly protective — his case was extremely unusual. Here’s a man who is in his mid-80s, who had a disease that makes your immune system highly compromised. He was on therapy that further compromises the immune system. So, he was at a much, much higher risk. I don’t think you should extrapolate that to people in general, even elderly people. He got vaccinated.”

The problem the provaxxers have with the Powell case is that they have painted themselves into a corner.
Their best case argument is that the vaxx had no effect.
If it has no effect why should folks with similar health conditions as Powell get the vaxx?

Well, it worked out so well for Powell, who wouldn’t be convinced?
Will be Interesting to see (provided we ever get honest results told to us) what the survival rate and injury rate of vaccines for covid are, are they less than 99%? Looks like they are killing and maiming people too. Are injuries greater than 1%? 2%?
It might turn out to be riskier to take the vaccine tha it is to contract covid for the average person. We may find out that only the sick or elderly should have been offered vaccines.
What are the long term effects of covid vaccines? Do they lower your resistance to other viruses now? Will more f8lks,folks, drop,dead to other viruses that they normal,y would have survived if they hadn’t had the vaccine for covid? These are things that are yet to be determined. There seems to be evidence that covid vaccines make you more vulnerable to variants, even to covid original itself.
Powell gave bad advise while alive too.

It’s certainly an innovative approach. It never occurred to me to take medical advice from someone who (1) has no medical training, and (2) is dead.
Actually, powell got the idea from ruth bader ginsburg, whose death bed speech also included the hope that, “if we ever get some kind of pandemic, everyone must gat vaccinated, but only after appointing my doppelgänger to the Supreme Court, of course after she is vaccinated.”
