Pain at the pump: Biden admits ‘I don’t have a near-term answer’ for high gas prices

President Biden admitted during a CNN town hall Thursday night that he has no immediate solution to the problem of spiking gas prices and suggested that Americans would not start seeing relief at the pump until next year.

“My guess is, you’ll start to see gas prices come down as we get by and going into the winter – I mean, excuse me, into next year, 2022,” the president told moderator Anderson Cooper at the Baltimore event.

“I don’t see anything that’s going to happen in the meantime that’s going to significantly reduce gas prices.

“I must tell you, I don’t have a near-term answer,” Biden added before musing on the possibility that he could “go in the [Strategic] Petroleum Reserve and take out and probably reduce the price of gas maybe 18 cents or so per gallon, [but] it’s still gonna be above three bucks.”

According to AAA, the national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline had reached $3.36 Thursday, up four cents from the average on Monday. The organization noted that no state had an average gas price lower than $3 per gallon.

In Gorda, Calif., on the state’s Central Coast, a gallon of unleaded was fetching $7.59, while Fox 5 reported last week that Manhattan motorists were paying nearly $5 per gallon to fill up their tank.

AAA attributed the price spike to high demand, high crude oil prices and a drop in gas stocks –which Biden sought to blame Thursday on OPEC and its oil-producing allies in the Middle East.

“Gas prices relate to a foreign policy initiative that is about something that goes beyond the cost of gas … That’s because of the supply being withheld by OPEC,” he said

Baloney. His near term answer is to make the price of gasoline so high regular Americans can't afford to drive. His handler's long term plan is to eliminate it entirely, even if it means wrecking the economy to do so.

He’s a gibberish idiot on an issue important to the bulk of Americans. And what is the republican response, how do they use this anxiety about prices to their advantage.? Anyone? Bueller?

Dementia Joe can start by reversing all the idiotic executive orders he’s signed since January 20.

If it ain’t broke DON’T FIX IT.

Biden inherited a strong economy, great energy policy and a border that was already relatively secure. All he had to do was either stay the course or continue the policies.

Instead, he did a 180 turn. He killed 11,000 jobs immediately by banning the Keystone Pipeline, stopped drilling for oil and gas, canceled the Remain in Mexico policy, stopped the border wall, and threatens to raise taxes and spend us into oblivion.

His solution is simple— REVERT BACK TO THE TRUMP POLICIES. But nope, he ain’t gonna do that.

Every FReeper knows exactly what steps he or she would order tomorrow morning to get energy prices down quickly.

Biden knows, too. He is following orders to make fossil fuel scarce.

I did quite a bit of driving today in Upstate NY. Reg gas is $3.49. Last Friday I bought gas @ $3.23. Can’t wait to go to NJ where it’s at least a dime cheaper.

Why exactly could not a class action lawsuit be presented against the USA against the American people? It’s obvious that their policies are costing us billions of dollars. Why do we have to accept their decisions and can we not question the reasons for their decisions? Do we not have the right of redress against the government? What this artificial taxation taken up by the House of Representatives or was it done by the executive branch?

Here in deep, deep blue Nevada (Reno, an annex of Kalifornia) and run by commies some gas is closer to $5 a gallon than $4.

It was once upon a time a completely reliable red state never to return. Sad.

Wow, what bad journalism. The exception does not prove the rule. The station is and has been an outlier for high gas prices for decades.
