‘This guy has eyes on the White House....’

dunno...he’ll be 77 in 2024; the electorate may well say ‘no old men for the country...’

plus he’s white, and that won’t help going forward, much as it should, it won’t...

He’ll be 77 in ‘24. Get real. But then Grassley might run. Getting weird.

“We’re being played.”

Yes. They’re the actors in a well-rehearsed tableau, and we’re the gullible audience.

Bernie Sanders is an “Independent” Meaning, he’s a good little Marxist/Socialist/Communist.

Same as Manchin.

“Me being a moderate centrist Democrat if that causes you a problem, let me know, and I’d switch to be an independent, but I’d still be caucusing with Democrats,” he said.

His comment from yesterday almost suggested the opposite. I paraphrase: "I am a hard-core West Virginia Democrat, although that may be different than a Washington Democrat." I almost wondered whether he was giving a small reminder that there is no national "Democratic Party." There are 50 state parties, a national convention, and two floor caucuses in Congress. And there is no reason he can't remain a member of the West Virginia Democratic Party (so no one can say he betrayed his constituents) but leave the Democratic caucus in the Senate.

He's not going to get The Squat and their 50-some-truly-odd Communists to back down off $3.5T. This is kabuki at this point.

That said, Manchin actually going to come off looking fairly good about 13 months from now when The Squat freaks out, and I mean weave-shredding shrieking freakout, after the House flips and they are denied any of the 3 Minority House leadership positions, when the Donkey moderates seize control with Nanzi/Hoyer/Clyburn's exit.

"Actually I think are already 2 Independents in the Senate, Sanders being one and the other may also be from Vermont too. "

Close! Anus King Jr. (I) is from Maine.

Well he’s got the perfect name for a Senator.

Ah you got me. That’s not his real name LOL. I had to look it up because it would be too funny.

Maine is almost the farthest point from my home so I have no idea what the politics are like over there. Probably the same as they are here though. I think Hawaii is closer.

Why not simply become a RINO Republican as he’d be more conservative than most and that would flip the Senate to Republicans? Republicans should offer him committee chair or whatever it takes; he should say yes so long as Republican majority leader is no McConnell.

He’s a politician. Is it really “switching” in his mind if he leave the Rats and becomes an Independent? He may have been saying BS to actually going full bore Republican.

"Ah you got me. That’s not his real name LOL."

Apologies! That's my pet name for him in the Sunday Morning Talk Show threads -- he always does Steponallofus when no A-listers are available. I think he has a 2nd apartment in the ABC DC green room.

"George, Trump had to cancel."

"Wake up Sen. King!"

They should just switch parties and be done with it. They won’t be any less liberal than McConnell or the rest of the RINO scum.

Baffles me why any moderate democrat stays with that party but now that I think of it there aren’t any real moderate democrats. All of them ending up voting yay to the most insane crap

There is no over-the-top margin for cheating. The outrageous cheating to put Biden over the top is unfathomable, impossible to accept, and a mortal wound to our Republic. Thus, since the democrats got away with that, there is no level of cheating that is unacceptable.

For a while West VA had started down the conservative road, I thought. But, now they elect another liberal commie dimocratic senator. I guess they are going back to the KKK Byrd days of liberals.
