Coinbase CEO Faced Massive Backlash For Banning Politics. A Year Later, Here’s What He Discovered

Until, two weeks ago, that is, when Armstrong broke his silence to update the world on how the company’s no-politics experiment was going.

In a word: swimmingly.

On October 1, Armstrong posted a tweet thread revealing that, contra prophecies that his company would face a mass exodus and public shunning over the ban, Coinbase has instead gained new staff comprised of professionals eager to work in an environment dedicated to clear corporate goals rather than murky outside social agendas.

“We have a much more aligned company now, where we can focus on getting work done toward our mission,” Armstrong shared, adding, “it has allowed us to hire some of the best talent from organizations where employees are fed up with politics, infighting, and distraction.”

Nor, he revealed, was this growth limited to white applicants. “Since my post,” he said, “we’ve grown our headcount about 110%, while our diversity numbers have remained the same, or even improved on some metrics…It turns out that there are people from every background who want to work at a mission focused company.”

An important story that the scum leftist media would never dare cover.

This should be the playbook for every company out there. But most CEOs are complete wimps or are brainwashed fools themselves.

Difference is he’s a company founder. Pepsi, Coke, Disney, Gillette, etc are all run by idiots who “didn’t build that.”

I know there’s @jack, but he’s a figurehead brought back by the board to calm investors.

Leftists are utterly toxic. They are intolerant of any dissent and ruthless in using whatever degree of power they have to crush those who express any - they will go as far as they can get away with. That goes up to firing squads on the national political level and that's no hyperbole, it's history.

Allowing them to spew their venom at other employees, to demand that those others basically bend down and kiss their feet - OR ELSE - is official policy at most major corporations in the USA now. It's a sign of the inevitable decline we're on.

But it's nice to see one company defy that trend and show good results of purging leftist activism from their building.

Indeed. The Netflix CEO is now backing down after telling employees to suck it up on the Dave Chappelle thing. These CEOs can’t help themselves. It’s a wonder how they rose to their lofty positions.

Vox Day commented on this a couple of days ago...

Ace of Spades is now talking about corporate cancer:

Ethan Van Sciver did a great podcast about what happens when you hire SJW political extremists in your company.

Here are some of the main points, with my own elaborations included.

1. Whatever your company used to be in the business of making, that is no longer your primary business. SJWs don’t care about the widgets you’re making. They take over your company and direct it to produce political extremist propaganda as its main product. Your company will only be permitted to produce widgets to the extent that widget-production helps fund your business’ new primary mission of producing propaganda and repression.

If your widget production interferes with the production of politically extremist propaganda, they will sabotage your widget output.

2. SJWs always seek to either curry favor with the human resources and diversity enforcement departments of a company, or, better yet, infest and take over the these departments of a company.

Companies actually allow this because they put most of their diversity hires into human resources and diversity enforcement, thinking that’s the way to appease SJWs, and that’s where these largely-unskilled, largely mentally-ill incompetents can do the least harm.

That’s 100% wrong.

If they were put in any other department — any department charged with producing things of value– their toxicity and dysfunction would cause the company to fire them for their malignance. They subtract value; they do not add to it.

But these corporations keep assigning them to the very departments were toxicity and dysfunction are rewarded. And this, these toxic, dysfunctional people are allowed to rise and exert authority over the previously healthy and productive parts of the company.

3. SJW “employees” will ultimately invert the boss-employee relationship, making themselves the bosses who tell the on-paper CEO and president what they’ll be doing now. They achieve this through socio-political blackmail and threats to destroy the company through a coordinated reputational damage operation.

We see this all the time. The SJW extremists are increasingly brazen about asserting that they, not the CEO or president or shareholders, run Bartertown.

While the grifter Charlie Kirk is babbling about conservatives protecting “the true, the good, and the beautiful.” Some people tend to bristle at this sort of thing and take offense on my behalf, but that’s just not necessary. It’s always the ideas that matter, not whoever happens to articulated the notion first. In the case of the latter, that’s a twist on the Aristotelian formulation, it’s very far from original to me even if I happen to have introduced you to the rhetoric.

And as I told Neon Revolt, we’ll know that Kirk is just parroting me if he starts telling conservative crowds that we have to “sink the damn ships!”

But most CEOs are complete wimps or are brainwashed fools themselves.

Most CEOs are status conscious, and don't want to be criticized, especially for being accused of being a barbarian. If it's not their company, (and even if it is,) they don't care about profitability - how many times have you seen CEO drive companies into the ground, giving themselves raises and bonus all the way down?

I work in a highly diverse company and no one wants to be distracted with people’s political crap. The company, however, keeps trying to introduce liberalism and the people reject it, even the liberals.

Many of my younger co-workers are democrats and buy into the lies of socialism. I hear them complaining about not having enough money.... It never dawns on then that it is the high taxes they are paying and the democrats causing the housing prices and gas etc. to go up.

It’s pandering pure and simple. The problem is that most people hate to be pandered to minus the few snowflakes who will never be satisfied anyway.

I noticed those that like the pandering are the low skilled and low achievers. It gives then something to focus on since they cannot do their jobs.

That was what was great about working from home.

When the idiots starting talking on a zoom call I just kept out of view of the computer screen and gave them the middle finger.

Who says work can’t be fun!
