The defense attorney who represented George Zimmerman, who was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was accused this week of witness tampering in a juvenile rape case.
Osceola County Sheriff Marcos López in a news conference said Hal Uhrig was arrested on Monday and faces charges including solicitation to commit perjury and witness tampering, according to ABC News.
Uhrig was representing a man accused of raping a 9-year-old and allegedly coordinated a meeting between his client and the victim and her father.

If the lawyer did this, he is one stupid lawyer. You don’t have to be an attorney to know that you, or your client, cannot meet with the victim. You can have your paid investigator take a deposition.
So? Yes, a lawyer is dishonest. This is not news.
Will Brandon demand that senseless murder be reopened?
So The Hill posts a picture of Zimmerman as though he had anything to do with this. Should it also post a picture of Hillary whenever a story about her former attorney come up in the Russia collusion investigation?
I cannot believe this happened as charged. If he did it he has an insanity defense! Of course they have bring up Zimmerman again.
You mean like how Ben Crump produced a false witness during the Tray on trial?
WHAT?
That's retarded, sir!
I don't recall this attorney's name from the Trayvon trial. The lead attorney was someone with an Irish name (O'Mara?).
Juvenile rape case? Lucky thing for the victim that the school board wasn't involved.
IIRC, Zimmerman basically ditched him early on. He was only very briefly his attorney, and not during the trial. Mark O’Mara and another lawyer whose name escapes me at the moment were his attorneys.
He and another lawyer were Zimmerman’s attorneys, and Zimmerman stopped communicating with them. They held a well-publicized press conference to announce that, and that because he was no longer communicating with them, they were dropping him as a client.
Story from April 10, 2012:
George Zimmerman attorneys quit as counsel
In a highly contentious press conference, attorneys Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig announced they have withdrawn as counsel for George Zimmerman, who remains under intense scrutiny for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
“It’s no so much that we are resigning. It’s that we cannot continue to represent him until he comes forward,” said attorney Craig Sonner.
Sonner and Uhrig say they have been unable to contact Zimmerman since Sunday, when he stopped returning their phone calls.
The last I heard, Zimmerman had changed his name to Ben Ghazi, so that the media would stop paying attention to him.
Why no prosecution of Crump or the prosecutor?
That's a rhetorical question, BTW.
I thought Zimmerman’s attorney was Mark O’Mara.
Don West. They were alter egos.
Yes, that was it.
