Former President George W. Bush on Monday said he is “deeply saddened” by the death of his first Secretary of State Colin Powell, calling the former diplomat and military leader "a great public servant.”
“Laura and I are deeply saddened by the death of Colin Powell. He was a great public servant, starting with his time as a soldier during Vietnam,” Bush said in a statement issued shortly after Powell's family announced his death on Monday morning.
Powell’s family issued a statement saying that the former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had died at the age of 84 due to COVID-19 complications.

As a sign of admiration and respect for Colon Powell, globalist, ex-president Shrub should join him, as a sign of solidarity.

Dubya is of course “deeply saddened” by the death of the creep who stabbed Republicans in the back every single election time.
No surprise there.

That should make him feel better. Losing another dependable liar must hurt.

I had already lost much respect for Colin Powell, but his lack of character in that whole Scooter Libby affair was craven, in my eyes.
He knew Scooter Libby was not guilty of what he was accused of, he knew well, but said nothing.
Well, he is gone now in any case, these things don’t make much difference for him now.

Me too and if Powell had died before his exposure as an Obamabot I would have grieved over this. I really don’t care now.

No matter how wrong-headed Colin Powell turned out to be, he was once held up as something of a paragon, one of the “first of” in several ways. There has always been a progressive streak in a lot of these “compassionate” RINOs, going back to Teddy Roosevelt and his “Bull Moose” party, and perhaps even much further. What few Republicans remained in elective office in the years of the New Deal and FDR, were almost all of the “progressive” variety, and they voted almost as enthusiastically for the whole package advocated by the FDR “brain trust” as the Southern Democrats.
Strange bedfellows, even back then.
