Hubby still works, I am retired and we are receiving health insurance coverage through his employer (CIGNA). Our 2022 "Benefits Guide" arrived today with surcharge information that "those that elect not to receive the COVID clot shot will be subject to $100 a month surcharge". Has anyone run into this with their insurance carrier yet?? Any ideas as to a circumvention strategy that works?? Let's Go Brandon.....
Ask them if they are surcharging for HIV/AIDS, Hep C, syphilis, heart disease, etc...
Welcome to the world of nicotine users.
I have to take a smoking cessation class every year to avoid a smoker’s surcharge even though we vape rather than smoke.
And if someone on your policy dies from the vax, what’s your recourse — retribution?
I’m sure it’s coming soon…..
Cigna actually calls it clot shot? or is this person’s quote not an actual quote?
I may not even have a job if I don’t accept the covidvax.
I applied for a religious exemption, so we’ll see.
My words...should have put it in quotes “clot shot”....
I was sure my company, Prudential, which is decidedly left wing, would do this but they did not.
My wife works for a great company- former military guy who has owned several businesses. During a conference call he told employees if they take the covid shot and flu shot they would get a $1000 bonus. He said it was totally up to the employees and there was absolutely no pressure to get either shot.
He then joked, “if you get both shots not only do you get $1000 but you can stop using those fake vax cards”!!!
Spouse took the shot, me not.
Class action lawsuit time.
But you at least know that when you buy the policy. This is being added on out of the blue.
So did I. I fully expect to be unemployed by Dec 8.
You haven’t bought it yet. We were hit with this several years ago. Still beats Obamacare by a mile.
My son is in the same boat. Applied for a religious exemption, but he thinks he probably will be fired. This is tyranny. Let’s go, Brandon.
Switch to a health sharing group now while you still can
I left my mandate system, took a huge paycut.. because I wasn’t waiting til winter to move. Too many people have faith in the legal system to save them.
Needs a class action suit based on lack of basis for the surcharge.
They need to justify it with evidence that I don’t think exists.
You can asked for it and should. What evidence/analysis do they have to justify this surcharge?
Confusing. Charging more for Pre existing conditions is illegal thanks to Obamacare.
