CHICAGO — A judge late Friday issued a temporary restraining order against the Chicago police union president, prohibiting him from making public statements that encourage members not to report their COVID-19 vaccine status to the city.
Cook County Circuit Judge Cecilia Horan ruled there was potential irreparable harm if local Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara persisted in making such statements. City attorneys argued they were tantamount to him advocating “sedition” and “anarchy” because he was directing members to disobey an order from their superiors.
It was the latest twist in the high-stakes standoff between Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the local police union over the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. With both sides accusing the other of illegally risking the safety of the city over the issue, the fight shifted into the courts Friday with dueling lawsuits.
Lightfoot asked the courts to intervene after the union chief told members to disobey Friday’s deadline to report their vaccine status. The local Fraternal Order of Police in turn filed its own lawsuit against the city, mayor and police Superintendent David Brown that seeks to force arbitration over the matter.

This may be the silliest illegal order I’ve seen from a judge since the sullivan rulings in the mike Flynn case. (Not dropping when don said to drop it.)

Putting aside for a second the fact this is indicative of the authoritarian nation America has become and no court told any politician to shut their mouths when they advocated for violence against police officers, but there has to be a deputy or assistant union boss who should immediately start spouting and spouting loudly on this issue now that the main boss has been muzzled....
Now if it had been Trump that called for some policy that the union was against, that would be another matter...

I can tell you Chicago’s finest do not consider Fish Eyes to be their superior. A lowlife yes, but superior no.
A clear 1A violation. Tell that activist to shove it and sue big when he violates his rights.
But if it’s “mutual combat”, should be all warm, fuzzy & legal.

This ranks among the stupidest rulings by a judge.
This will only further encourage the rank and file cops to not report their covid status.
It is up to each individual to accept or reject the jab.
Our Judicial System is too politicized.
