Six children, including a 2-year-old girl, were among 46 people shot in Chicago during the weekend.
Most recently, between Sunday evening and Monday morning, four people were shot, one of them fatally. A total of three people died after being shot during the weekend.
The weekend also saw a few shootings with multiple victims, including an attack that left dead one of the five people who were shot in a Wicker Park drive-by early Sunday and another that left wounded three people who were shot in Lawndale Saturday night, including two teenagers.
In the Wicker Park shooting, officers were called to the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue around 3:45 a.m. for a report of shots fired by someone in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.
A 32-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest, police said. He had not been identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as of Monday morning. Three women, all in their 20s, also were shot, as was a 30-year-old man. All four were taken to hospitals where their conditions were stabilized.

Heck Chicago has more deaths on a weekend than many of the war conflicts happening in the world.
Mayor Lightloafer will be boasting about Chicago having a safe and quiet weekend. And the Soros State’s Attorney Kimberly Foxx will extoll that the shootings were just limited to involving “mutual combatants” rather than citizens of Chicago & Cook County.
They misspelled Gang violence.

Gangster lives matter?
Kim Foxx must have the easiest job in the world. Why expend the effort to catch and prosecute criminals when they will probably get shot and killed (or maimed and put out of commission) some weekend soon.

The shootings were mostly peaceful.
The local hospitals must see a bunch of gunshot wounds . Curious what a typical Chicago gunshot wound cost for medical treatment is ? Who pays ?
The politicians are going to wait until thousands more die, then take guns away from the Whites in the suburbs who aren’t killing each other nor the blacks in the ghettos.

I’m surprised that the Trib is covering this. I find the structure of the sentences to follow a bit hard to comprehend for me and they seem to be run on too.

I wonder how many other injuries or deaths occur on a given Chicago weekend where the weapon of choice or opportunity was something other than a firearm was used?
How many of the “children” were 16 or 17 years old?
