I was very fortunate to play with some good hired gun type musicians who worked for various A and B listers. There are lots of stories, like the guy who was on tour with George Clinton and Parliament for 11 years. I asked him one day, “11 years, what was that like?” He said, “Well, I had a stroke and 4 guys died.”
I got out before I got too damaged.
