Six months after receiving the second dose of the two-shot vaccine from Pfizer Inc and BioNTech SE, many recipients no longer have vaccine-induced antibodies that can immediately neutralize worrisome variants of the coronavirus, a small new study suggests.
Researchers analyzed blood samples from 46 healthy, mostly young or middle-aged adults after receipt of the two doses and again six months after the second dose.
"Our study shows vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine induces high levels of neutralizing antibodies against the original vaccine strain, but these levels drop by nearly 10-fold by seven months" after the initial dose, Bali Pulendran of Stanford University and Mehul Suthar of Emory University said by email.
In roughly half of all subjects, neutralizing antibodies that can block infection against coronavirus variants such as Delta, Beta, and Mu were undetectable at six months after the second dose, their team reported on Thursday on bioRxiv ahead of peer review.
Neutralizing antibodies are not the immune system's only defense against the virus.
Still, they "are critically important in protecting against SARS-CoV-2 infection," said Pulendran and Suthar.
"These findings suggest that administering a booster dose at around 6 to 7 months following the initial immunization will likely enhance protection against SARS-CoV-2 and its variants."
So we went from waning efficacy (unknown in the beginning), to 147 days from the second shot that the protection is reduced (study about two months ago) to undetectable by 7 months. If only they had done long term testing BEFORE they released the shots, hundreds of millions of people would not have been subject to clinical trials and continuous jabs.
We just got back from a check up, a full lab report. My wife had Covid, a light case a year ago, and her anti body count was 833. Doctor smiled, and said that is the way it is supposed to work.
Because they ain’t ‘natural’....................
They’ve already said you’re gonna have to take 10 a year, plus pills...until you’re dead.
And I suspect my pureblood natural immunities to last for the rest of my life.
The FDA had every reason in the world to not approve that vaccine. Sloppy trial protocols, no real evidence of immunization, no completed animal studies, no long term safety studies, data from all over the world showing waning efficacy, and Pfizer even admitted they made it weak in the attempt to avoid side-effects from the jab.
Another study says they last for over a year.
Which is it?

Israel said 6 months a few months ago and they have a lot of experience and real world data on the Pfizer jabs.

Here's a free clue for everyone: Science is not easy. If it were, we'd have cures for every known condition, live forever, and rule the universe. PhD scientists aren't total morons. It's just that the human body and science are extremely complex. It's that simple. ;)

Giving boosters against last years virus would be like giving flu shots for last years flu.
Yes, you have to take charge of your own healthcare, consulting with your family physician and your various specialist doctors (practically every doctor specializes) and having at least a decent understanding of the latest scientific/medical news. That's about the best one can do.

Both of the mRNA vaccines lose effectiveness between 4-6 months post-injection; the failure rate doubles between 5-6 months as opposed to 3-4 months.
Age is NOT why the vaccines lose effectiveness. It is simply that they stop working.
While Moderna vaccines work slightly better than the Pfizer ones, the key word here is slightly. Both degrade materially and the difference in the 5-6 month timeframe is not statistically significant. Yes, it appears to be slightly better but not statistically so. In other words the damn things do not work to provide durable protection — period.
The nuclear lie: As of August 7th 60% of hospitalizations were among fully-vaccinated individuals. You have heard repeatedly that this is now a “disease of the unvaccinated.” That is a damned, knowing lie and they knew it all the way back to the first of August.
In the 5-6 month timeframe the hospitalization protection also is wildly ineffective; the rate per 100,000 approximately doubles between the 3-4 month and 5-6 month time periods.
Prior infection is highly protective but post six months vaccination has become much less-so. Note that “prior infection” now goes back 18 months to the first wave.
