New York City restaurateurs are speaking out against the city's proof of vaccine requirements for in-person dining, which has disadvantaged local businesses. ... "Our business is definitely down 50. I'm going to say 60 percent. There are just no people coming into the restaurant. They have a fear of being asked for vaccines,"

And many restaurants aren’t asking for papers.

Then there’s this; maybe they took a page from Wayne’s book:

We were in Chinatown last weekend and the restaurants we walked by,and the one we ate at,seemed to be empty. I don’t know if their business is mainly tourists or locals but either way it was surprising.

And asking for proof of vaccination is keeping them out? I bet there are numerous fake vac cards available.

If your solution to the "vaccine passport" is to show them a fake one, then you don't understand the gravity of this problem.

Because once they make the "passport" almost impossible to replicate (see your own passport for international travel, if you have one), you will have been demonstrating acceptance to the idea of presenting papers upon an irrational demand for months. We will have given up too much ground to recover easily, if at all.

I live in Baltimore area and have to travel to the northeast states somewhat frequently for work. I take a lot of gear with me so I drive.

As often as possible I take a slightly longer route to bypass NYC completely.

I don’t think it’s the fear of producing a vaccine card that’s keeping customers away. It’s simply a rational response to the underlying message conveyed in a ridiculous policy. Many of these people probably think the same way I do, which I explained to a business associate who couldn’t understand why I refused to attend a business networking function last month where masks would be required for anyone who isn’t vaccinated:

“If this pandemic is so serious that people have to take these protective measures when gathering in groups like this, then why would I consider it safe enough to engage in any kind of discretionary activity at all?”

They pretend to look for vaxx mandate IDs, you pretend to show them.

Well to Soviet America!

I would like to know how Hawaii’s tourist industry is doing - since they were demanding a 14-day and then 5-day quarantine for anyone coming from the mainland - vax or not.

We were trying to plan a family trip over Christmas and finally gave up.

A lot of the Hawaiian economy is dependent on tourism.

Bingo. We keep screaming about “incompetence” but it isn’t that. This is all by design. You don’t “screw up” this badly, this is all well thought through. Same for the Taliban.

This is all-out-total-war without bombs or bullets. It will eventually destroy our economy and supply chain. We could be looking at something well beyond a depression, more like communism starvation.

I read recently about black colleges having student debt erased. Throw in “rent free living” and “government checks to not work” and we’re already living the Bernie world. The “COVID emergency” allowed them to bypass Congress on all of it. This is why COVID can’t end. Just look at Australia.

The left really believes they can take down the USA and impose their fascist/socialist utopia and that it’ll actually work. So many useful idiots controlled by power drunk elites. For them, the end justifies the means, by any means necessary.

It is being directed by the global elite on a global scale and it’s just going to be one massive disaster.

Good. It’s not the job of restaurants to police COVID. Let the State be the bad guys, I’d bet a lot of cops don’t want to do it. So if it isn’t enforceable it’s irrelevant.

...it just means we must ALL reject it, otherwise we’re just giving them their power.

Most restaurants run on a shoestring budget and can only go about two weeks without full revenue before being underwater.

This crap is criminal…

I do NOT fly ... haven’t since TSA started up. BUT, if I did (assuming no mask/vax requirements for passengers), my first question would be asking if the pilot(s) are vaxed .... if so, no go.

Money quote:

”How is that fair in New York City that the trains are jammed with people with a silly mask on? They're not being mandated to show anything.”

You have to be an absolute imbecile to think any of this makes sense. Simple logic exposes all of it for the fraud that it is. It isn’t about health, it is about control. Shutting down the subways would be inconvenient, certainly. But preventing people from enjoying their lives, well now, that’s how you inflict pain, and that’s how you get control.

People just say screw it. I heard an advert for Brian Wilson at a nearby theater. Initially I thought I’d going but then I remembered all the vax bullshit and moved on with my life.

All according to plan.

These policies are perfectly designed to destroy small businesses.

* * * *

Yes, yes. Destroy the freedom-loving, entrepreneurial element of the restaurant business.

Of course, even before this crisis, the Joey's Italian Diners were destroyed to make room for Pizza Hut.  Locally owned and managed restaurants are what any free society loves.

And this is exactly Der Bliztsio wants to destroy -- to make room for the fascist state and the international-scale Biden Family Syndicate.

Listen all you good N.Y. restaurants come on down to Florida. Gobs of your customers are moving here so you will be welcomed and appreciated if you are worth a crap.
BUT please leave your liberal crap there.
