GETTING UNDERWAY

A young Ensign, who had just completed his first overseas deployment, was given the opportunity to "show his stuff" by getting his ship underway. As he yelled out commands with great confidence, sailors were running everywhere. In no time, the ship came out of the channel, headed for home. It was accomplished so well that he set a new record for getting a destroyer underway.

He wasn't surprised when a seaman approached him with a message from his CO...he WAS surprised to find that it was a radio message. He was even more surprised as he read, "Bravo Zulu upon completing your underway preparation exercise according to the book and with amazing speed. In your haste, however, you have overlooked one of the unwritten rules...always make sure the CO is aboard before getting underway".

In our haste to "get underway" daily in this vast ocean that we call "life", let us remember to make sure that God is aboard. It is He who will guide and direct us safely through the storms and rough seas!

Infectious Diseases Systematically Used of Foster Children in Developing an HIV Vaccine.

2020: "When we started MedicalKidnap.com in 2014,
one of the shocking things we learned was that

use foster children as lab rats to develop drugs.
Once the state takes custody of a child away from
the parents, and the child becomes a ward of the state,

Once taken into ICC, the children become subjects of drug
trials sponsored by NIAID, NICHD in conjunction
with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies,
GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Genentech, Chiron/Biocine and
others. The drugs being given to the children are toxic,
they’re known to cause genetic mutation, organ failure,
bone marrow death, bodily deformations, brain damage and
fatal skin disorders."

Anything I split today wouldn’t be used until 2023-24. Ash and cherry need to be attended to first; locust can wait many years, even a decade or two.

The Dwindles

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:7–18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

It started with a tickle in my throat. Uh oh, I thought. That tickle turned out to be influenza. And that was just the beginning of bronchial affliction. Influenza morphed into whooping cough—yes, that whooping cough—and that turned into pneumonia.

Eight weeks of torso-wracking coughing—it’s not called whooping cough for nothing—has left me humbled. I don’t think of myself as old. But I’m old enough to start thinking about heading in that direction. A member of my small group at church has a funny name for the health issues that assail us as we age: “the dwindles.” But there’s nothing funny about dwindling’s work “in action.”

In 2 Corinthians 4, Paul too wrote—in his own way—about “the dwindles.” That chapter chronicles the persecution he and his team endured. Fulfilling his mission had taken a heavy toll: “Outwardly we are wasting away,” he admitted. But even as his body failed—from age, persecution, and harsh conditions—Paul held tightly to his sustaining hope: “Inwardly we are being renewed day by day” (v. 16). These “light and momentary troubles,” he insisted, can’t compare to what awaits: “an eternal glory that far outweighs them all” (v. 17).

Even as I write tonight, the dwindles claw insistently at my chest. But I know that in my life and that of anyone who clings to Christ, they’ll not have the last word. — Adam Holz

What “dwindles” are affecting you or someone you love right now? What can help you maintain your faith and hope during seasons of struggle or discouragement with health issues?

Father, even as our bodies “waste away,” help me to see those physical struggles through the lens of our hope in Jesus and the glory He promises.

I awoke to a snow covered deck and driveway and everything else. I guess sweeping leaves today is off til tomorrow...maybe.

Indeed! Blue and i had a really nice morning ride! I went to a few yard sales, but didn’t find anything.

But it’s fun anyway, and Blue was glad to get out after the rain.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

I saw that there was a little snow falling around the city today. Any at your house?

Got your feetsies up and cooling after a good day at the museum? Did you get to lead some tours?

A little kick-back time, but hair cut, the feed store for black oil seeds for the birdies, and I shoved the snow off the deck. I woke up to it snowing, but it finally quit at a strong inch. Covered up the leaves I was going to sweep today. Oh well...hopefully I can get the driveway leaves in the barrel tomorrow. AND...5 ducks came today. I hope the hawk has moved on, cause he got another one a couple weeks ago after they came back after several weeks.
