Atlanta's wealthiest suburb is edging closer to separating itself from the city as it introduces a bill to Georgia's legislature that goes up for a vote next year.
With rising crime rates in Atlanta, Bill White, the CEO of Buckhead City Committee (BCC), is pushing for the suburb where the average house price costs $1.4 million, to 'divorce' itself from Atlanta.
'We are living in a war zone in Buckhead,' White told Bloomberg Businessweek. 'Shootings and killings, it just never ends.'

With that level of wealth, the FIRST THING that people there need to do is make damn sure Stacy Abrams and her clan don’t win office (or stay in contested seats). Next they need to find good conservatives* to win those seats, and give them tons of money. If all that happens, the state just may cut them loose. Otherwise, they’ll get to continue enjoying being part of ‘cosmopolitan Atlanta’, for eternity.
*for many of the buckhead people, that means sucking it up and voting REPUBLICAN, maybe for the first time in their lives. Sure, the ‘horrific and vile’ Trump is a Republican, but if they want to take their upper crust neighborhood out of Atlanta, they will need take the required steps...otherwise, no dice.
Buckhead is exactly the place the federal govt wants to rezone for housing projects.
With their Thompsons and BARs the old time hoods where just more efficient that the present day hoods

Trying to compare the frequency of crimes of today, to the crimes in the 20s and 30s just doesn’t compute. Not even close...

....one compromise could be that if Buckhead represents 38% of Atlanta’s revenue then 38% of City Council folks need to “LIVE IN” Buckhead.
Our black friends (the majority) in Atlanta will NEVER EVER agree to that. So, one way or another, they will lose Buckhead.
Example: Public Schools. Hard headed NEA unionists, marxist/socialists ALL...........still control Public Schools. BUT, white and black middle class folks are just circumventing public schools and the NEA FRONT by building/organizing new private schools by the thousands while home schooling is expanding exponentially. Soon, public schools will lose tax revenue......like Atlanta is/will lose Buckhead tax dollars.

Like most cities Atlanta has a Soros funded DA. Close the revolving door legal system by having your own police/DA/Court etc and the thugs will go elsewhere

The problem is black culture, which celebrates or condones or ignores black crime, drives out good people of all races. The answer is to get away from it, as the government will not protect good people, and in much of the country, self-defense against black criminals will not be accepted.
There are two formerly wonderful malls in Buckhead, Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. It is no longer a safe venue for families. Gangs, shootings and mayhem abound and Atlanta Mayor Bottoms is MIA. Men and women have been shot in nice neighborhoods, some people have died, and Mayor Bottoms does not care.
Apparently Mayor Bottoms has no intention to protect Buckhead citizens which is her job. Buckhead residents deserve to live in safety so they have no other choice than to separate from Atlanta City and form their own city with their own police department.
