Talking about historical knowledge gained, here’s a real life example...
I made a ton of money on the 2016 election from what I learned here. In 2000, early exit poll numbers were leaked from Florida on election day. Articles were posted and savvy Florida freepers said they were doing that to depress the Panhandle after work voters, which leaned heavily Republican, and where the polls closed 1 hour later due to the timezone difference. So I expected that same stunt in 2016 but also knew Florida was a lock for us, due to the postings by our resident Trump campaign insider. You lose Florida and you lose the election. So on election day in 2016, the same stunt was pulled and Trump’s shares on PredictIt started plummeting. I didn’t panic but loaded up the truck, buying a lot of shares at 5+6 cents. And it was absolutely glorious that evening as the results started coming in and those shares climbed and climbed in value. 20-1 payout.

Blam’s threads were many if not most of the GGG topics, I merely got talked into pinging by farmfriend, my immediate predecessor. On my links page there’s a pointer to the topic where GGG began, and got its name. In fact, that pointer *may* be in the GGG ping message, I now live on Failing Memory Lane and would have to go look.
Y’know, Failing Memory Lane would make a good ping list name. The trouble would be, remembering to ping everyone.
I’m #1 in comments? Yeah, heh, I believe that. And remember, I was banned for a whole year a while back.
I could have built a replica the Eiffel Tower out of used popsicle sticks from popsicle that I ate myself in the time I’ve no doubt spent here.
Of course, I’ve used a variety of timesaving techniques. ;^)

I hope to be still around to see the FIVE million mark sooner than later, as we enjoy learning, sharing and working the keyboards with our best efforts for the USA and FR.
