There is a real energy crisis in Europe that was created by a combination of political missteps, climate change fear-mongering and a woke energy policy that could leave much of Europe and Asia undersupplied as they head into winter.
It is also a foreshadowing of what may happen in the U.S.
Oil topped the $75 per barrel level this week, the highest since October of 2018. Instead of learning from the mistakes that Europe made, we instead want to copy their failures and put our economy and people's lives at risk. The Biden administration had better heed the warning signs and call on the U.S. energy industry to try to raise production ahead of what could be one of the most expensive winters that we've seen in years. If not, they risk destroying the U.S. economy and leaving poor people out in the cold

“Cheaper to freeze the deplorables than to shoot them”.
How would they select only Deplorables to freeze to death?
I’m considered NorthEast...looks to be a brittle winter up here from the Farmers almanac. Actually for the country.
Yep.
Your up there now in the New England area.....I lived in R.I. for a year during winter months...they got hammered with snow and brittle weather at that time. So good you’re ready for it....it’s a different type of cold than here in PA. It’ll smack your face! Ha!
I stayed with a couple when relocating who liked their house with temps as yours. I darn near froze to death! They just wrap themselves in a blanket while watching TV and think all is well in the world....while my nose and ears felt like ice!
One good thing about large snow coverage....it has an insulation effect.
They are what I make my pot roasts in....my stews in....my sauces in....cooked frostings.....custards.....fried cabbage.....on and on :-)
And, yes....they can go in the oven, or on stove top.
Fried cabbage???? Never heard of it.
We ordered a water filled version of that radiator heater, for relatives up North. They love it.
;-)
You’re missing out!
It’s a southern thing....with onions, a little bit of garlic, salt and a dash of crushed pepper. Fried in bacon grease, of course :-)
Sounds good to me... I like cabbage but have only used it for Italian Boiled Dinner with red potatoes....and of course Italian fresh bread.
I use Bacon grease for fried potatoes. For years I tried to get them to taste like my mothers until someone finally said to use bacon grease.....and that’s all it took! HA!
Plus I like Wilted Lettuce Salad with a sugar vinegar splash, learned when I was visiting as a kid and they fixed it there.
It’s better than NY winters.
Not as much snow and not the pervasive overcast for days on end. It’s much sunnier even though the temperatures in the winter tend to be a bit colder.
Radiant heat can give you a sense of being warmer than it actually is.
It’s the same as radiant cooling, which you notice more in the winter when you stand in front of a window with no curtains.
The room air temperature will be the same in both cases, but radiant heat loss is a thing so it makes sense for you to actually need less heat when there’s a radiant source nearby.
Sounds how I like to do Brussel Sprouts.
Bacon will make anything palatable.
Summer of 2019, Hubby cut 20 huge trees to make way for our shed/root cellar off of our extra lot. We have enough wood for several winters. And in 2018, we put an insert in the large fireplace-it worked really well last winter.
As we are all electric, we have no propane or gasoline uses, other than for our vehicles, and occasional portable generator use. We have discussed possibly getting an additional propane BBQ grill for an additional way to heat water/cook.
However, we can always use the 2cnd fireplace for cooking, and we have a rocket stove, solar oven, regular bbq grill, firepit, and sterno stoves and fuel, so maybe we should just buy some more charcoal and Sterno. Ha.
Anyone who isn’t them are deplorables in their wicked eyes. They are either Patriots or Useful Idiots.
We have a lot of cast iron “Non Stick” and it is fabulous. We never had cookware that cleans up as easy and cooks as well as this stuff does.
“Decades of experience, earned the hard way. ;)”
WHAT? There’s an EASIER way to do things in Life? News to me, LOL! :)
My point is that they couldn’t only freeze the Deplorables. They’d also freeze their Useful Idiots. They couldn’t selectively freeze us.
