BAD NEWS: Working From Home Won't Save You From Biden's Federal Vaccine Mandate
PJ Media ^ | 09/28/2021 | Paula Bolyard

When President Biden issued his edict mandating vaccines for all federal employees and contractors, along with employees in private-sector companies with 100 or more employees, there were a lot of questions about how the order would be implemented. We now know the answers to some of the more pressing questions that have been raised and one thing has become abundantly clear: The Biden administration is using 1984 as an instruction manual.

The White House issued “Guidance for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors” on Friday detailing the new vaccination policy. The COVID-19 workplace safety protocols “will apply to all covered contractor employees, including contractor or subcontractor employees in covered contractor workplaces who are not working on a Federal Government contract or contract-like instrument.” The goal, according to the guidance, is to “decrease the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, which will decrease worker absence, reduce labor costs, and improve the efficiency of contractors and subcontractors performing work for the Federal Government.”

Working remotely from home will not save you from the federal vax police.

An individual working on a covered contract from their residence is a covered contractor employee, and must comply with the vaccination requirement for covered contractor employees, even if the employee never works at either a covered contractor workplace or Federal workplace during the performance of the contract.

The goal is to get shots in arms, not to protect federal employees in the workplace, which is weird, since the Biden administration is citing an obscure provision of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations to force vaccines on millions of Americans.

“Congressvermin”

Nope. Due to separation of powers, the exec branch can’t boss congressional or judicial employees around.

A young friend of ours is in this situation. He is going to wait until he is fired and he is letting others he has come to know in his work that he may be available soon. People are setting up business (with I guess 99 people) to take up the slake and he is being recruited. The economy will shrug and keep chugging along. I want to know how the new gov of New York will manage if the National Guard refuses the jab.

Effing insanity. I had been having second thoughts about refusing the vax and changing jobs. Not anymore. So long, I’m out the moment the written offer lands.

“Congress desperately needs to take back its power to legislate.”

You need to understand that Congress is perfectly happy to let the administrative branch do the controversial rulemaking. That way the critters can’t be held responsible for unpopular mandates. The same thinking holds with states which are perfectly happy to let the feds make the hard rules. Each group is passing the buck to reach the unelected, unaccountable bureaucracy, aka Deep State, exactly as planned for decades.

Millions of Americans armed to the teeth with suddenly nothing left to lose.

Most of them will get the jab before it gets that far.

Hi.

This a multiple choice question:

Given the zeitgeist currently existing in the United States, in what novel are we living?

A. Animal House
B. 1984
C. Idiocracy
D. Atlas Shrugged

Extra credit for other options. I.E. A Brave New World.

Dune doesn’t count.

The OSHA requirement will never survive court challenges for workers who work solely from home—that is jumping the shark.

I am certainly aware of that. All three branches of the federal government had a hand in concentrating power in the executive branch, but Congress bears more responsibility than anyone other than, perhaps, the voters themselves.

Exactly. My work has has it stated that as soon as they get word from the administration, they’re going to mandate it. Like immediately. They’ve got the letters and policy ready to go last week. The executives and HR people making the decisions are pro-vax freaks. It’s disgusting.

There’s no way we’re living in Dune. Everyone is too competent, thoughtful, and well-spoken in that book.

The OSHA requirement doesn’t exist.

The 28% of Americans who work for themselves can keep right on working from home, their cars or their offices.

“Does this mandate include Congressvermin and their staffers ?”

No. Nor does it cover the 644,000 postal workers, illegal immigrants and collectors of welfare checks.

Which is why the vaccine mandates will fail in the courts.

How is it decreasing the spread if the vaccine does not prevent transmission or viral load, but only prevents serious hospitalization?
