The newborn twins had died in cruelty, wrapped in brown paper and abandoned in a vermin-filled Bronx alley, but dozens of cops desperate to find out who killed them have made sure the babies had a final, peaceful farewell.
Around 20 NYPD officers, mostly detectives, turned out at Eternity Funeral Service in the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx Saturday for a funeral they arranged in honor of the infants, whom they named Zeke and Zane.
“Zeke is short for Ezekiel which means, ‘God’s strength,’ and Zane means ‘God’s Gift,’” said Lt. William O’Toole, a veteran homicide officer who said the twins’ case has impacted all who’ve worked on it.

Can’t imagine being a cop and having to witness the things they do.
If they are going the DNA genealogy route, they might have a harder time given the majority-minority demographics of NYC. Black and brown people are supposedly not as well-represented in the consumer DNA databases. I hope they find the mother.
And yet one second before birth they could be killed and sold for body parts.
There are really no words ... so sad. There are drop off spots everywhere in the city for newborns & infants, no cameras, no questions ... just leave them at the fire station or in the baby box.
...In abortuaries zealously protected by the very same NYPD that saw fit to give a decent burial to these twins.
So sad. May they be with God now.
I saw nothing that said the babies were black.

What?! Someone forced her to torture her own children? I don’t think so.
These babies are now with the Lord, fortunately. How can people commit such horrific crimes?
My guess is baby daddy did it.
Probably not, but it IS possible.
Sad.
Infanticide will always occur when mothers prefer the closure of a dead child instead of a lifetime of not knowing what ever became of them.

When I tried last year to reference a case of a Detroit mother leaving her precious newborn baby in a garbage dumpster which reminded me of the Dragnet episode of the baby girl in a garbage can (the baby saved by police and doctors)
I was dismayed to find Google confused over which monstrous offense I was searching. There were too many others to distinguish it.
Sick to my stomach again so I’ll stop now.
That’s why this is so tragic.
