The only reason I can think of why Wood would feel the need to remind the court of that is if the Rittenhouse family is making noise about expecting the bail be returned to them. Legally it can't be.
Rittenhouse had a cash bond.
My understanding is a cash bond requires the full bail amount be paid and is not financed through a bail bondsman.
A surety bond is the kind you described.
Thank you.
Then if he shows up, he will get his full bond back?
I found this:
How does a cash bond work? A cash bond requires the full bail
amount and is not financed through a bail agent. The court
will hold onto the full bail amount until your criminal case
is concluded. At that point, the bail is returned to you.
The Fightback Foundation is Lin Wood’s back pocket.
Whoever posted the bond will, yes.
I’m in the same camp as someone else who posted that Wood was reminding the court WHO posted the bond. I would think (but I’m not a lawyer) that the family would have to take it up with the Foundation what should happen to the money that was donated for the bail.
Rittenhouse is facing four felony counts - first degree intentional homicide, first degree reckless homicide, and two counts first degree reckless endangerment. Felony homicide is not usually an offense where bail is offered. He's lucky he got out at all, regardless of the size of the bail.
But bond is supposed to be about whether the accused is a flight risk or not.
Can a title BE more misleading?

People accused of violent felonies like rape or murder are generally not eligible for bail because they present a risk to the population if there is a likelihood that they might kill or rape again. The judge evidently decided Rittenhouse was not a threat but made sure the bond was high enough to ensure his appearance in court. Being accused of murder might make anyone a flight risk.
For me the big takeaway is Kyle is likely to be acquitted as he should be.
He may not get off scott free but he doesn’t deserve any assault or manslaughter charges for defending himself against his would-be killers.
Very odd. It’s a scam and anyone can see it. Why defend the $ grab. Idk. Kyle is being railroaded. If I had the $ I would pay to let him disappear to a new location and a new name. Unfortunately I do not have that kind of money. Does $5 count?
I dislike the boot lickers. I understand it at times. People seem to not realize that our old country is just ashes in the wake of globalism + techno oligarchy. We are screwed. We can hope it gets us last, we die first, …. If any of us really admit where we are at in the overthrow of the constitutional principles we either have to die/fight or cry or pray. Either way we are screwed.
That is the theory.
Thank you. I’ve kind of thought there may be a connection. But certainly the headline and the article did not go there, so I appreciate your input.
Lin Wood is no longer employed at his Law Practice and in fact is being sued by the same former Law Practice.
Lin Wood is hailed a Hero in the Q circles.
President Trump endorsed Lin Wood’s opponent in a N.C. Attorney General race.
Lin Wood continues with wild claims of the Q kind but provides no proof.
He also attacks Republicans, almost exclusively as Lin Wood has yet to attack a single Democrat ever.
Lin Wood was a registered Democrat his whole life and always supported Democrats. Which might explain why he never attacks Democrats or makes wild claims about them as he does Republicans.
People donated the money to the foundation for Rittenhouse’s bail and defense. Wood making sure the money goes back to him and not to the current defense team is a huge grift.
Why should it go to the defense team if it's what is keeping Rittenhouse out of jail? Wood's organization fronted the bail, not the defense team.
You’re not doing this on accident. You’re purposeful in not understanding. I expect that of Democrats and not rightwingers.
Wood collected the money for the legal defense while he was attached to the case. It’s hugely unethical for him to keep the donations after the bail has been settled.
Hee hee... you get a trophy
