Chicago encourages Texans to leave state

The city of Chicago has taken out full-page ads in The Dallas Morning News to encourage Texans unhappy with the state’s new abortion law and other issues to leave the state.
The ads tout Chicago’s tech and business sector as well as the city’s more liberal politics, pointing to voting rights, abortion and an emphasis on science as a means to combat COVID-19.
Texas this year has adopted a new controversial abortion law that makes any abortion six weeks after conception illegal. It has also instituted new voter identification laws that have drawn criticism from liberals who say they disenfranchise minority voters.

This is how screwed up Illinois is. Worried about Texas and abortion laws that take an ad out while the state is burning in debit. I don't need TX libs moving here!

Maybe Austin will empty out completely. If so, I’m buying real estate there since it’ll be the new conservative mecca and since liberals don’t understand economics and finance, houses will be dirt cheap.

They’re burning in debt and losing residents about as fast as any other state. They need to recruit new residents but the high taxes, regulation and miserable winters don’t appeal to many. But hey, abortions!

They’ll QUICKLY see a new line-item in their paycheck stubs (assuming they bother to work), which is called STATE INCOME TAX. And when tax season comes, they’ll find that states are not nearly as generous as the feds when it comes to deductions...for state income taxes, everyone who works, pays.
