JUST IN - US house has just approved $1 Billion for Israel’s Iron Dome defense system with an overwhelming majority. This comes days after progressive Democrats successfully managed to get it removed from a stopgap spending bill.
>Not sure why we are paying for this in the first place.
Can we start with the $10B in free gear we just gave the Taliban?
Don’t worry AOC ... the waaaaaaaaaaaaambulance is on it’s way.
Hey...Israel could fork over a few hundred billion of that 3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas they found as return payment for all the hardware we gave them over the years. We’ll liquify it for ourselves and bring it back here.( I guess technically they are “buying” the iron dome system but somehow my wallet seems emptier for it).
Oh those tears of the devil.
AOC crying brings a warm feeling to my heart.
I could not possibly have more contempt for AOC and ‘the Squad’ than I already do.
These are vile Human Beings.
Israel and the U.S. has had good relations with missile defense technology, particularly with contractors like Raytheon in Huntsville, AL. We built the first version. Israel improves on it. We improve on it, etc. Part of the purchase agreements is that we share telemetry of how well they operate in the real world. On that end we're on the receiving end usually because Israel is usually the one attacked, providing us with real case information from detection to prevention, when it succeeds and when it fails.
We provide Israel Billions for purchasing arms mostly. Then they buy those arms from US:-)
And then they make them better. Wonder if we buy the upgrades from them? Interesting circle.
It’s my understanding it was developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace and is quite different than the Patriot. If you’re suggesting Israel got the idea from the Patriot, clearly. And certainly supported with US financing. But I’d note virtually every source I’ve seen notes the two above companies as the developers. Israel has good relations with Raytheon, who is making Iron Dome in the US now. If they were involved in the development they’re not getting credit.
It’s a sad day for AOC when Jewish people don’t die.
No. The alternative to the U.S. funding Iron Dome is for Israel to fund Iron Dome.
Here's your answer: US Army scraps $1b. Iron Dome project, after Israel refuses to provide key codes
The technology was created IN Israel.
Pelosi trying to buy back “moderate” Dims, for the bigger $3.5 trillion fight.
