WASHINGTON—The U.S. military said Friday that it mistakenly killed 10 Afghan civilians, including seven children, when it launched a drone strike on a car in Kabul last month, and missed its actual target, militants who were thought to have a car bomb to be used in an attack at the city’s airport.
It was a reversal of the Pentagon’s position on the Aug. 29 strike from just days ago, when military officials said they believed that the strike was justified. Military officials said then that civilians may have been mistakenly killed, but that Islamic militants had been stopped. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army Gen. Mark Milley had gone so far as to say earlier this month that the strike was “righteous.”
But after a detailed analysis over recent days, the military’s Central Command concluded that it had killed civilians and had missed its target, even though there was in fact an “imminent and active threat” in the area.

Probably some loud, backroom argument, wherein Blinken threatened to resign, unless the military took ownership of this big mistake. He said he has enough on his plate, without falling on his sword over this one, too.
Blinken is looking like a desperate, exhausted, depressed person of late, which is appropriate, IMHO.
OK, so what is the cost of the mistake? How many millions of dollars did the WH send for their misdeeds.
And tell us, Mr.Biden, who supplied the target?? I know - the Taliban!!! Those whom you even trust with the names and contact information of all Americans in Afghanistan.

The drone strike hit exactly the target it was aimed at. Problem being, this poor guy doing more than transporting clean water to his fellow Afghan citizens was sent to his death to cover up the inept administration that totally screwed up the Afghan withdrawal. Anything that worked for Trump, chuck that out the window.

A strike that targeted innocent civilians and kills children. 😔 What have we become? Inept. In many quarters, corrupt, and in yet others, evil. I weep for this nation for many reasons.

Why are they planning future drone attacks on Afghanistan, if we are no longer at war?
