A hostess at a well-known New York City restaurant was attacked just for asking to see a group's proof of COVID vaccination, a requirement to dine inside in the city.
Exclusive cellphone video obtained by NBC New York shows the Thursday evening attack outside Carmine's Restaurant on the Upper West Side. Around 5 p.m., tempers flared and the hostess stand is nearly tipped over in the mayhem, with a waiter at one point helping carry someone away from the scene.
The 22-year-old hostess asked the group of Texans to show proof of getting the COVID vaccine in order to dine in the restaurant, part of NYC's executive order that went into effect this week. Law enforcement sources said that the hostess was then repeatedly punched in the face and body, and sent to the hospital.

CDC released stats from a few weeks ago showed blacks as % of population only a couple % behind whites on vaccination with a lot more in recent months (whitey got it early, blacks in summer)

Carmine’s appetizers garlic bread is $16 and fried zuchinni is $22. A ceasar salad is $27 and a mixed green salad is $26. Meatball spaghetti is $33 and Chicken Parmigiana is $35 with no side vegetable. Add on a veg side and it’ll cost you $18 for spinach and $20 for broccoli. A bread pudding dessert is $22 and the same for a fruit plate. That’s a bleepin’ $120 for an ordinary spaghetti dinner without a beverage, 20% tip, tax, title and drive out.
I might forgive them for starting a fight over the restaurant’s prices. Yelp says those are only 2 star prices. Yowzers. No thanks. I’ll continue to eat at home.
