Extremist groups and prominent rightwing figures are warning supporters not to attend a far-right rally in support of the people arrested for participating in the 6 January Capitol attack, calling the event a “false flag” and a “trap”.
Capitol police are bracing for potential violence at the “Justice for J6” protest rally, which is taking place in Washington DC on Saturday, and security fencing has gone up once more around the Capitol building.
But local and federal officials have also said that they expect no more than 700 people to attend the protest, a far cry from the estimated tens of thousands of supporters of Donald Trump who converged on the Capitol in January.
Across rightwing social media platforms, “most people who are talking about the event in any capacity are telling people to steer clear of DC,” Cassie Miller, a senior research analyst at the Southern Poverty Law Center, said. “Any extremist group that’s talking about it is warning people against attending.”
The common narrative in rightwing forums is that the rally is “a trap that’s been set by federal authorities” that will leave participants vulnerable to “surveillance and arrest”, Miller said.
While intelligence officials reportedly warned in early September that the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers were planning to attend the rally, both groups, whose members are facing some of the most serious charges in the 6 January attack, have since distanced themselves from the event. A Proud Boys social media channel posted “Sounds like bait” and wrote “We aren’t going and you shouldn’t either”. In an interview on his way to jail, the group’s chairman, Enrique Tarrio, said: “The Proud Boys will not be there,” WUSA 9 reported.

Gotta hand it to the deep state and the left. They know that most conservatives are all talk and are terrified of being lumped in with “lawbreakers”, so all they gotta do to discourage dissent is bring up 1/6 or have some people shout, “It’s a trap!”. They managed to keep protesting to a minimum on Inauguration Day the same way.

People going to the Capitol building are just going to be looking at the FRds targeting them. I hate to say it, but the deed should have been done on Jan 6th! Never , have we seen anything like anything like we have in our lives, when the Feds view tax paying US citizens as the enemy!

Conservatives who are not stupid don't intend to walk into enemy territory where the other side controls all the pieces. It provides a propaganda opportunity for the other side as well as allowing them to subject themselves to imprisonment and lawfare / vexatious litigation designed to bankrupt them and leave their message without a voice. (No money = silencing!)
Hold your protests in friendly territory where the constitution is still respected and NOT where communists rule. Or hold it where the President (Trump) is on site and Secret Service and local police and lots of cameras are in attendance.
The other side sees these rallies but can't manipulate the outcomes and images that come from them.

So, exactly what will this rally really accomplish? Will there be any cold hard facts we can point to aferwards and say ‘look what a difference it made’?
The left loves to make empty gestures, just seems like this is more of the same from the other side of the fence.
This is a honey pot at best, and a false flag at worst.
As for the “Numbers” for midterms.. I am not that confident. Many women prefer a comfortable collar to the dangerous freedom of others. And they are outside influences.
So do I.
They haven’t got enough mileage out of J6, and they want some violence that they can blame on us.
Look for provocateurs trying to start violence.
